I have searched and cannot find an answer to this question. What does the little number in the lower right hand corner symbolize on complex encounter cards?

It's the progressive number of the encounter, so that in case you need to ask replacements you may say "hey, I miss card n. 19 of the deck XY". No influence on gameplay
