"Don't care points Value" HUGE Empire Builds

By Salazark, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

What I want for an Imperial Armada

-4 Victory Class Star Destroyers

-3 Imperial Class Star Destroyers

-6 Imperial Raiders

-24 Fighter Squadrons

-2 Gladiator Class Star Destroyers

Points Value: Meh...

Whatcha think?

Only a few less ships than what I plan to use.

I'll have:

3 Vics

2 ISD

4 Raiders

3 Gladiators

and the rest in fighters.

Your list does spark the need for more Star Destroyers though.

How many upgrades? ;)

Edit: IMHO that's too large fleet both game-wise and universe-wise. I'm afraid so many ships will make this game bloated. Don't know what's the safe limit. With a rule of a thumb and my experience with Battlefleet Gothic I would say 10 capital ships per side, but that's a wild guess (Yep, I know you could play much larger games in BFG, but that's only because Capital ship squadrons rules).

How about

2 MC80's

5 MC30C's

3 ASF MK2

2 Neb B Escort's

6 CR90's

15 Squadrons

4 X-Wings

5 B Wings

6 A Wings

I want a line of FOUR Assault Frigates, with 2 of them being twins, the one in the front being a tanky mofo, screening everyone else being him while just doing repair commands and tokens, and another one being some sort of carrier.

Maybe throw in some Neb-B's for escort/distraction, but leave the corvettes at home.

I love the MC-30, and will buy a few of them! I will wait till the winged MC80 though...

But before I found out about using assault frigates as old time ships of the line, I was going to have a Impstarduce as a flagship supporting 3-4 victory star destroyers. No gladiators, no raiders. Plenty of squadrons though. It would be my battle group for a campaign.

" Though Death Squadron initially consisted of only six ships—the Executor and five Star Destroyers—it earned a fearsome reputation as the personal armada of Darth Vader, who also had the authority to assign additional ships from other sectors as he saw fit. [3] As of the Battle of Endor , Death Squadron had grown to include the Executor , two battlecruisers , three Tector -class Star Destroyers , and thirty-three Imperial Star Destroyers —representing the largest fleet of warships ever gathered in the history of the galaxy ."

I'm with the OP. I'm all about going Death Squadron with my fleet. I have 2 Cores, and plan on picking up 2 more, in addition to 3 Vics, 4 Gladiators and 3-4 sets of Fighters after Wave I hits. Rebels will probably be 1 each of the Vette and Neb-B (putting me at 5 each), 3 Fighter packs and 4 Assault Frigates.

You can imagine my plans for Wave II. After that, I don't expect to be purchasing more than 2 of any given release, really.

My long term plan is to get one model for each ship title that they release, or at least for the Empire, not sure yet if I will also collect the Rebels or not.

I'm going for a post Endor themed fleet with 2 or maybe 3 ISD-II's, 1 VSD-II, 2 or 3 Lancer frigates, 2 Escort Carriers, 1 Interdictor, 1 or 2 Vindicators, and 1 or 2 Strike Cruisers. With a matching (canon) Star Fighter complement.

During my time serving with any number of higher ranking, but ultimately spoiled command officers, I've learned that many overstate their own importance, and have a desire to command far more resources than they ultimately need, or, rather, can competently utilize. I've found that the key to successful command is to wield a smaller, more efficient fleet, with only a few front-line war vessels bolstered by smaller, more specialized support craft.

In planning my own inevitable command, I've operated under the theory I would act as the hammer for a system moff, enforcing the defense of key planets dedicated to the production of war materiel and personnel in a single, populous star system.

I believe that a proper defensive network would be based around a single large-scale warship, both as a hammer, and also a flagship. To that end, when I achieve my own command, I plan on requisitioning the following vessels:

1x Imperial-class Star Destroyer (flagship, ISD Phaedra's Fury )

3x Victory-class Star Destroyers (VSD Reclusiarch, VSD Abgrogate, VSD Nexio )

2x Gladiator-class Star Destroyer (GSD McKagen, GSD Brownstone )

16x TIE squadrons:

8x TIE/ln

4x TIE Bomber

2x TIE Interceptor

2x TIE Advanced
