uk storage issue
Really Useful Box (www.reallyusefulstorageboxes.co.uk). Also available at most High Street retailers - I got some from Staples and Rymans.
These are perfect for storage.
I bought one of the larger boxes and it came with two trays. Each tray had 6 small compartments and one larger. The small compartments are the EXACT perfect size to contain the plastic blister pack for a single ship. I believe trimming the large ships blister pack will allow it to fit in the larger compartment.
When I get home I'll try to look for the product code on the box.
I use Battle Foam! Not a helpful answer for you though, sorry.
The Americans go frothy at the mouth when they rave about how great Plano tackle boxes are for X-Wing, but I think they must be more expensive here than in the US as they really don't seem that cheap when I've looked them up on Amazon.
You could try looking in your local B&Q, but in my experience, they don't have anything big enough.
Stanley Organisers like the Sortmaster or Sortmaster junior are great and cheap as chips.
I bought a twin pack of juniors from Homebase for £9 a couple of months ago and a twin pack of full size sortmasters for £13.50 last week.
Order a chunk of foam from eFoam.co.uk for about a fiver, spend half an hour cutting out you own foam inserts and you're good to go for about a tenner
They're not in stock any more, but I got a couple of Plano 5231 cases off amazon.com delivered to the UK for less than £20 the pair. The only drawback with them is that I'd like a tad more room for large ships, although between the two I've got a Falcon, a YT-2400, a Firespray, a Space Cow, a Decimator and a pair of Aggressors, so I can't complain too much.
I second Funkleton's recommendation of eFoam, too. I've got two bits, one cut to the depth of the top tray of the Plano and a second the thickness of the bottom tray. A combination of that and trimming the blister pack "trays" that ships come in to size has served me very nicely, although I've found the foam a bugger to cut neat indentations in without a Dremel or somesuch.
Edited by RodafowaI use some cheap DIY storage cases from Wilkinsons. The compartments nicely fit most of the ships (B-wings and Defenders are a bit of a squeeze) the base and its dial. You can pick them up for less than £5.00 it fits nicely into a backpack and allows for quick setup/put away when playing.

I use these too. Good little carry cases and expandable as you can clip them together and add on new cases, plus lots of little pots for sorting your tokens. Which reminds me, I need a new one
Battlefoam may be on the expensive side, but its **** good.
Ive got a Spear case with custom trays, holds everything in my X-wing collection (except the corvette) and still has space so I can hold 100pts of each ship and another couple of waves worth of expansion.
OK it was just over £100, but compare that to the value of your ships.
KR are a cheaper alternative but very wastefull in space IMHO.
You could always use old GW cases if you have them lying around and just order custom trays from Battlefoam.
http://www.krmulticase.com/ I use these guys bought a bag and inserts seven years ago and they are still going strong, just took advantage of their buy one get one free offer they have on at the moment if you buy a new sized case.
+1
I have a battlefoam card board stacker box full of foam - it holds my entire collection (which is sizeable!!!) and there's room to at least 2 or 3 more waves I reckon. Battlefoam does some decent premade foam trays - but my recent purchases have been custom trays to my design (they have an awesome creator tool on their site) - bit expensive, about £35 delivered, but it holds exactly what I need.
Just yesterday I also got a Feldherr mini plus - and 9 foam trays delivered in 6 days from Germany for only £45.
The bag itself can hold 2 lists or so, and everything you need for a tournament.

I like the KR cases - they aren't cheap and can be the size of a small moon but they have a nice modular design for the inserts and the fact they store your minis on stands is quite handy.
I fit everything I own into a double sized one, three factions plus all the tokens and stuff and have another double one to put my 40k stuff into free so I am happy I got value for money.
In the end you shop around and get what works for you ![]()

I'd never thought to use my Dremmel - I just use those cheapie craft knives that come in packs of 6 at Poundland.
What do fishermen use for a tackle box? The Plano boxes are just tackle boxes. There should be some sort of local equivalent to Plano. When you go to Walmart or some sort of sports super store, what do they sell in the fishing section?
I just googled and found this for £29.99:
