My storage solution, with photo

By michigun1, in X-Wing

Hi all.

We all see questions about storage solution regulary.

I want to share my expirience, with UK-based battlefoam vendor.

I own 2 base sets, one of each addon except E-Wing - I like it and own 2 E-Wings.

All collection stored in 2 boxes:

Imperial box, upper 2 storage modules:

Imp, all storage modules:

P1100729.JPG

Imps, small ships storage:

P1100730.JPG

As you see small ships stored with stands, it is very comfortable.

Rebel box:

P1100731.JPG

Rebel's small ships modules:

P1100732.JPG

even Y-wings and HWK also stored with stands.

For pilots and upgrades cards I use albums:

P1100733.JPG

All pilots (Imps and rebels) in first album:

P1100734.JPG

Each ship's pilots have own page or two.

Small upgrades cards stored 2 per card slot in second album:

P1100739.JPG

This albums stored in Rebel box.

Templates, dices and all other nessesary too.

Both boxes stored in backbag:

So I can grab only one box when I go to simple play, or can grab all my collection if I need all ships.

Also, there is place for tockens zip box:

This foam, boxes and backbag I ordered from http://krmulticase.com/ .

It is not simple to find, but there is wizard at their site, you can select which ships you own and wizard show you which foam with which configuration you need.

Good job man looks good. Only thing I noticed when using the albums is I tried the side loading sleeves for upgrade cards and they would slip out when turning pages and what not so I use the reg top loading ones and they hold a lot better. Just my 2 cents is all.

nice

If you have normal sized sleeves the two (unsleeved) upgrades fit great side by side and won't slide under one another

I like the pages designed to hold business cards. Work well for upgrade cards with or without sleeves.

You mean side loading standard trading card sleeves right? Maybe I got a bad batch or something cuz they were slipping out when turning pages. Could be the brand maybe too I guess. I got them at staples.

Where did you get the foam from? And did wherever you get them from cut the foam that way or did you do that yourself?

Never heard of a sideloading std card sleeve then again xwing is my first into cards/minis, I use standard top loading sleeves (Players choice to be exact) its firm fit in the card page and the don't shuffle around.

I also use 9 pocket sideloading card pages from UltraPro and not one Players choice sleeves card (standard or 2 upgrades) have ever slipped out though I tried, I went with pages since I got a large collection and secondly with a 3 ring binder I cant add pages and upgrade as needed.

One of these days I'll post pics of my card storage

Hope this helps

I can tell from the photo's lighting that you are from the northeast area, probably Michigan.

That's KR muticase foam, card case and bag based in the UK

I swear by it, they have a usa outlet too

It would really make me nervous to store my ships with the flight pegs attached.

Foam supports the ships well there's no real movement, I've been using it over a year with no pegs broken

Also very soft foam

Very nice...and was that a stealth-x you painted up in there?

what do you mean? :)

@ michigun - It looks like you cut out a Falcon slot to hold the Decimator and a Slave-I slot to hold the Outrider, is that correct? Also, are those the full sized boxes or half size? I have a KR case for DropZone Commander and love it, and was thinking of getting foam for my X-Wing collection from them.

You have eagle eyes :-)

You are right, I cut out this slots (10 minutes before this photos, actualy)

As far as I understand KR sizes, I own full sized (1 unit) boxes, but most foam is half-height half-size, so I puted 4 foam in 1 box.

I also own 1\4 unit-height foam (for maneuvers disks, and pilot's squares - right foam at second photo), but they don't so usefull and I do not use all of it.

This foam is my first and only expirience, but I can recomend it.

By default they provide foam in blue color, but I think gray like mine is better.

The wave 5 stuff is now up on the KR site :-)

I just bought a couple trays of pluck foam and am very happy with how they worked out.. was able to put all 4 Firesprays and a Decimator on one, and 4 shuttles and room for another Decimator when I get it.. lol.. will need a couple more for my rebels... 2 2400s, and 4 1300s...

I mentioned this on the Imperial Assault forum.

Checking the message boards daily is one thing but man I know I am a gamer when I think even this simple and basic thread is cool.

Necroing this because you just posted this in the a storage topic, but do you have any detailed photos of the green, i assume Corrans, Xwings? ive been looking for the right color and you seem to have found it
