More like that my main point of post was, "I'm mad about losing characters." I don't think that statement was really one that could be debated. I said like 4 times I don't think they absolutely needed to rotate, but I could deal with the aspect of losing non-character cards. Then people came out of the woodwork going "RAR! ROTATION IS GOOD" and I continued to restate, 'I don't think they needed to, but that's not really why I'm most angry.' to which I got more responses of "RAR! ROTATION IS GOOD, AND YOU SUCK." Sorry my opinion that they shouldn't cut licenses out of the game because it alienates fans of said licenses. ****. I think I got one non-inflammatory reply which I addressed in kind. Thank you for trying to make the conversation constructive Kawaii :P

So here's constructive criticism of B4. They need to push foundation protection through rotation so that Kazuya and Nightmare aren't too dominant. Right now and in Tekken there's a sore lack of answers for them. I also feel that the coming sets need stronger aggro, as the 'big' cards in Tekken are almost all control oriented (save for some new staples for All and Fire) and I don't know that Shadowar/SoulCal had enough offensive E's to make aggro as strong as control.

My other big problem with the new block from beyond a perspective of "I want to play Capcom characters, not Namco ones"... is that B4 character support cards really behave like just that... Many of the new cards have character abilities or abilities that are only useful if you're playing the intended character. And while it's cool to have maybe 1 or 2 cards like that for every character, I think the number now floating around in the game is a little frustrating, especially with such a limited card pool, as during deck building it effectively negates potentially interesting choices.

It wasn't simply Rar rotation is good. It was more joy about change moreso backed with the fact you can play whatever you want execpt for City and Store Championships. I didn't name call and you still have yet address what you do to keep and grow your playgroup. It seems in your post by your tone that you want everything back the way it was or you were gone. So I responded according to your verbage.

There shouldn't be more foundation protection. The major reason why is that foundation destruction now is a 1 for 1 ratio and with another card a 1 for 2 ratio. Covenant Elder stops Kazuya for a turn. It gives people a reason to play evil and chaos in addition to death.

We don't need more "big attacks." Going back to the one shot attacks will only make people walk away. To counter balance more damage reduction and control creep in and we are right back to where we were. Sigfrieds Earth Divide does 13 damage. In this format its easy to make that a 20+ damage. It is also possible through life to pump the speed of that attack to the point where it is not blockable if it hits early game. A player should have to land several attacks not just 1 or 2 big ones. That was the big flaw off the game previously.

The named only cards can be frustrating but after seeing how Tiger Fury , I-Spin and Feline Spike went we need cards that are good that make people play that character. Making it harder to min/max is a good thing.

Covenant only stops R's from characters, so it doesn't stop Kazuya.

AAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDD Done.

Selling my cards, and now am 100% out of this game.

I don't see any need for that because if your store wants to keep things the same there is no penality whatsoever.

Thats just it! there ARE no stores in my area who are willing to carry this game! I have to go out of my way to look for places, (Closest one being Rochester NY) while me in Syracuse Ny has NO stores who want this game. When I tried to talk them into it, they claimed "They had the game for a short time and not many people liked it... Which I understand and tried to assure them things would change but.. no.. So a 2 hour drive is the closest thing to a tournament I have! Plus with no one to practice with things get stale when I have a fun deck idea... and NOW all of my favorite cards Neo Raging Storm and Neo deadly Rave will be useless... because the ONLY store I can go to is a 2 hour drive... and when you lack a car there it makes things troublesome...Can one REALLY blame me for being done?

Wait... no love in Syracuse?

Give me a week and see if I can pull out some magic for you. Which shop(s) do you play out of there?

Also... just to help me out on this - do you actually purchase your product locally, or do you order from online distributors to save $$$

Well as of the last month nothing has been purchesed by me... I have almost no support of the new sets (due to lack on money...) But Play The Game (Read The Story is the only gaming store in the Area... and I used to be a scout and TRIED to convince them that the game was good! This just sucks! I loved this game and it really seems like now the work load is FAR greater than the Fun factor...

If 2 hours trip is to much then ask the store clerk if you could run demo's on a few saturdays or sundays. Yes its work. That is a scouts job. Your volunteer labor for the game. Thing is we need a scout forum for people to share ideas in how to develop their communities. This way we can share ideas and not have it easily go off course or trolled.

When i move to Kansas City there isn't any places in a reasonable drive from where I live. This means 2 hours + so I understand how you feel. But if I want the game to take off in K.C. then I would have to start fresh.

The problem is gaming in general is dying. Card games aren't selling as well pre 2001. The economy and modern gaming is killing the card/mini game format because doing it is way to expensive. If FFG did this game online there would still be lots of problems. I used to be trainer/playtester for an online game called Alteil. Online card gaming has tons of problems and issues but they don't have to worry about keeping a game alive in an area to keep players because you play globally.

K... give me a week... I make no promises... but I'll see what I can do.

I needed to ask simply because if the only local won't buy product becuase they only buy from Potomac (I've had areas where shops have stopped carrying the game for that reason, and the players didn't think it was right that they should be expected to support their local shop... it was crazy and stupid, and I've learned to take nothing for granted.) then me even trying would be a no go. I've got a few local contacts in your area from Raw Deal... so... cross your fingers and wish me luck.

Is there any update, by the way, about the regionals winner's deal? I remember Steve saying he'd make a post in the SoTG about people emailing to reconfirm addresses or such.

i hope he makes that post soon i really want me prizes

yeah i was hoping we would get some tekken promos or whatever before/as it is released.

I guess FFG staff may be sort of busy with all these changes.

Im sure Steve is doing all he can and we will be taken care of :)

How about FFG staff is busy with Gencon and all it entailed.

If only I went, perhaps I could stop hating the convention and really enjoy myself, perhaps I would even become the social butterfly that is so opposed to my general IRL personality. Perhaps, even, a Hatman of sweetness and joy, one that uses his power to spread love and acceptance through Photoshop.

But no, I stand alone and bitter and cursing silently at FFG for pretty much ignoring everyone for the biggest trad gaming convention in the world, if not the biggest gaming convention in the world.

Oh well.

Gencon is only the biggest gaming convention in North America.

For all the slagging of FFG not paying attention to those not at Gencon...

I'm assuming you haven't bothered to watch the videos available at the following links:

Uh... there is no way you wouldn't know that post was tongue-in-cheek. I tend to be far more virulent when it is about things I genuinely do not like.

I also posted that for those who haven't been to Gencon to view and try and get a scope of just what FFG does at Gencon.

I have to say that video was really cool!

You could always come down to Oneida. We're closer than Rochester, only 40 minutes from Syracuse. We have a nice little playgroup, we average 7~9 people. If you're at all interested, you can reply to me here and I can give you the information. The people here always give away our extra cards to people that need help getting into the game or getting back into the game. Either way, I hope you find something that works out for you.

Yo, this is just a game. Lets be clear there first. Second, we all should remember that we as well as the early stg staff are to blame for our utter failiure in preserving this games integrity. Look people I get it. Many of us are mad or uneasy about the whole deal. But make no mistake this is the way we are going to survive as a whole. People please keep in mind that You not even be able to complain about, make suggetions about, or even quit playing if the game if it died before you could.

Good or bad this is what we all have helped it become. We are at this place partially by choice. And if you don't believe me just think hard about this games current position and it's past one. Think also about the future of this game and how you can benefit this game and it's players. I do not completely disagree with panda on everything, he has some good points even if they lose validity due to his rudeness.

I am happy with most of what I have seen from FFG and their work. However I am unhappy with the obvious symbol slant toward death and fire. I do understand that to power these symbols up required a good amount of work and card support, but I think it has past that point. Other than that people just try to enrich this game and all it's aspects. A good play attitude and environment where creativity is encouraged are very helpful, As well as player respect and honest play. By all means go hard and play to teach and learn more than win and this game should due well.

All else can wait and will eventually come. Thanks to you folks at FFG and thanks everyone who has ever played and taught me.

Peace.

Wat. someone who can actually admit it?! + over 9000 cool points :)

Actually This is really rather great news for me. I'm in San Diego, CA and UFS has been completely dead since about a year and a half ago when alot of BS went down at the venues around here. Scout was banned from a store, everyone in the play group started to quit because of that. One team got into a fight with another at a different venue, etc.... UFS was reduced to just me and one other friend playing just for fun, half our decks made of proxies....

With BLOCK 4 coming out a possibly a new venue here we might be able to revive the game somewhat.
