Ah - that explains it. Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner ...

It's like 'Vae-Fae-aeR-Pae' :)

Some people who have trouble with long words they just abbreviate it to 'VAHA'. :)

Its been wufrup since the day 1st edition came out to me and most of my gaming friends......A few who came in at 2nd ed call it warhammer but we tolerate that mild eccentricity.

I've noticed that oldscool calls it "wuhfrup" on Small But Vicious Podcast.

I usually just call it "Warhammer" -- around here, it's synonymous with WFRP.

Yea, I didn't until I listened to the SBV podcast too!

;)

jh

I honestly thought everyone pronounced it wufrup.

Being french, I like to pronouce it with the french diction.

It becomes something like:

"Varamair"

Say it fast with the tonic accent on the last syllable, Vara-MAIR.

WFRP would be:

"Vefe-RÛP"

It's always been Wufrup for me.

Yeah, around here (Dublin) a lot of people call it wufrup.

Yeah, 'Wuhfrup' (don't forhet the 'h') is fairly widespread. I believe that the FAQ on the old StS site that RevLepper wrote made mention of this (though it might've been at the Archives -I forget).
