He serves purpose in the fact that he's a character I liked to play and was good with. That's it. Story-wise? Sure he can leave. Edit character would be nice though.

Leona's new duds are win.
The lack of Mai continues to mystify me. Isnt she SNK's most popular female character? And linked to Andy to boot?
I'm not even particularly interested in using her, this just...surprises me.

I wouldn't be surprised. Mai was not in KOF XI, and King was not in KOF 2002. The fan response was rather negative about it, and lo and behold, they were in the console versions. Mind you, King was a clone of KOF 2001 (I think 99 would've been better, her outfit is more awesome), and Mai was a clone of NeoGeo Battle Coliseum.
I'm not sure how easy it will be to add people to THIS game, though, unless they've been planning to do it all along.
Well, I DO suspect that several fan favorites will end up in the concole versions (Look at SFIV for instance)...but lack of Mai still amazes me.
It'd be like having a new SF game without Chun-Li in it.
Mai technechly wasn't in XI (at least the arcades).
The only dissapointments I have with this roster is you can't built a female fighters team and there is no characters from the NEST saga.
Also the English Trailer is running around now, so it's confirmmed for a PS3 Release.

Clues to some of the new characters?

You should note the greyed characters in the background are from 2002 Unlimited Match...
So this means we might see K' and Mai in the home versions. Hopefully Elizabeth shows up as she was in the preview pics.

K'!!!!!!!!!! Wherefore art thou K'??!!! With your white hair and NORMAL COLOURED FIRE... (Purple, Iori? Really?) Your odd taste in biker gear and your really crappy attitude....
Actually, K' is a bit of jerk, isn't he? Why do I miss him? :|
The only real problem with K' is simply that he's a boring character. He's fun to play with, and SNK's intentions when making him were cool, but in the end, he wound-up looking like a Kyo/Iori clone, and in many aspects, is. Although I realize drooling fans salivate over the dumbest of character inceptions, K' just doesn't really offer much to the KoF universe =/.

The first two Street Fighter 3 games didn't have Chun Li. It wasn't until third strike she was added, and boy, what a mistake =/

K' and Mai are already confirmed for home versions. And boo to Elizabeth.

You know who HAS just been confirmed to be added, though? Elizabeth and Mature.

I beg to differ. Mai and K' have NOT been confirmed for the home version yet. They've shown up on SNK's KOFs Anniversary site drawn in a KOF12 style, but nothing official has said they're in. It's just speculation at this point.
You know who HAS just been confirmed to be added, though? Elizabeth and Mature.

Boo.
Even Momoko was more interesting to play as than those two. **** for the win, I guess.
You have to admit...the guy to girl ratio WAS pretty high. This...what, doubles the female cast?

So?
The one thing I do know is, I was not expecting Mature. Appearently she didn't kick the bucket in 96'.
I always thought it was a pity for SNK to kill off those two.
Wanna see both Mature and Elizabeth in action? Check out the video here!

Woo! it's wall slamming time!

And now you get Elizabeth, who is arguably the most bland character (in terms of gameplay) to hit the title, and Mature, who, honestly isn't so much of a bad choice, but was clearly chosen for her evil blonde with **** allure.

Actually, I'm a Mature player, so it came as a double shock to me. Plus this is a dream match so her kicking the bucket in 96 has nothing to do with it.
That's like arguing that the New Face Team, Mature, Vice and Geese were not supposed to be in 2002 because they died. The response to that is who cares, it's a dream match.
And as for Elisabeth being in there, maybe this time they'll give her *gasp* as many as FOUR moves! Maybe more!
Then again the change in engine might make her worth the time; it really depends on how well she did her transition into KOF XII.

All signs point to unlikely. I assume she was chosen because she didn't have as much frames to animate as a lot of other, more popular choices.
I assume on Mai boob jiggle frames they would've lost a lot of man hours...

Iuno, if they keep the MI2 jiggle they ought to be good. Those things never ceased motion.
