This game looks interesting and I'm dying to play it. However, I only know scraps of information about the WarHammer world as I've never played the minatures and still have not tried the roleplaying system. The closest I've gotten to WH is HeroQuest. I hope I don't need to have much background knowledge to do respectably at this game. I also hope that I'll be able to try it AND buy it if I like at GenCon. That would be ace. Any ideas?

I am quite sure that you do not need any background knowledge of Warhammer Fantasy to play it, at all. Everything you need to know to play it is in the rules. If you still want some info, however, I would recommend you this place:
