Strongest Hero

By Courchevel, in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game

Hello guys,

Just to make a quick poll on what hero (just for the purpose of the game) is the strongest : most adapted to help to beat most scenario.

I would say :

Gandalf as top hero

With no much far behind Glorfindel (spirit)

What would you choose ?

Edit :

Ok, i'll try to maintain result here

Podium :

Legolas

Just raw power, or does threat matter? Do you take into account available attachments? Should the hero work in many decks, or is one very powerful deck enough?

Just from what is on the hero card, without accounting for threat, Gandalf is probably the best.

Taking into account threat and flexibility, it's Glorfindel.

most adapted to help to beat most scenario

So basically taking everything into acount against all scenario ... So I guess your answer is glorfindel then

Surrounded by allies, Dain. Glorfindel and Elrond are heavy hitters, and Elladan and Elrohir. Yes, I like Noldor.

If we only get 1 vote each, I say Glorfindel. Though Galadriel is fantastic as well.

Edit: The problem with Gandalf as a hero is that no one can play an ally Gandalf, who has better stats and can help you assign damage, draw cards or lower your threat (and the latter is extra important for Leadership/Tactics decks with no other threat reduction). Though I have probably used hero Gandalf too little to weigh the pros and cons.

The game is too complex to distill a strongest hero. There is no right answer.

Solo is probably Glorfindel or Gandalf. 3-4 player would be Dain.

Trololo, the purpose is not to have the right answer, here ... As you might know already, in this world, there is no truth ;)

The purpose is just to have the impression of the players as to which hero can be the strongest assets to beat all the existing quests.

I am pretty sure that having the opposite poll, I would have a clear leader embodied in Pippin (spirit) ;)

Anyway, feel free to share your point of view on this matters.

Elrond

Théodred.

Next question!

Grima, obviously.

Gandalf. My most powerful deck (sorry, Dain!) involves getting about 15 attachments on him and stomping through enemies (Balrogs included). As soon as Shadowfax is released, he can have ranged and sentinel, too.

BTW, I only play solo (and two-player once a week) so that might skew my opinion a little bit.

Grima, obviously.

Sure? The most? Why?

Because he can reduce the cost of any card.

Fatty Bolger.

Just kidding. Glorfindel (spirit) with Light of Valinor.

Glorfindel.

Gandalf!

Spirit Pippin.

I don't have Gandalf hero so i don't have much experience for using him, but i would say that Glorfindel is the best hero, because when i use spirit (almost in every game) i take Glorfindel with me. His great attachments like light of Valinor and Asfaloth are one of the best cards in the game (at least for me), his stats to quest and attack are also very good and small threat cost makes him good for secrecy decks too.

Glorfindel (spirit).

Fatty Bolger.

Just kidding. Glorfindel (spirit) with Light of Valinor.

Why not? He is very good ^^

from my experience with what i own (so grain of salt as i don't own gandalf or glorfindel spirt) and i only play 2 player it would be Haldir

I second Mndela too! I played a game with Mndela and he had a deck that featured Fatty and Fatty performed really well! :)

You're playing together via OCTGN?

I would have to say Legolas (Core). He has the natural ability to assist with two of the three main mechanics of the game, killing things and adding progress tokens. He doesn't require attachments or other card effects to be good at both of these things. And, he has ranged.
