You know you're playing Only War when

By Calgor Grim, in Only War

When it takes about half a dozen turns to put a wounded ork down.

The ork runtherd is officially referred to as "G1-T" due to what ended up feeling like a force awakens pastiche ("TR-8R") where he unslung a shock prod and took out some serious anger issues on the squad's weapon specialist.

He took about four entrenching tools to the chest, his kneecap was taken off, his guts were hanging out, he was bleeding profusely from two separate major wounds and he was missing his left arm and he still managed to tazer the specialist's comrade into a critical condition before he realised he'd been medically dead for a couple of minutes.

Since they never actually bothered to check he was dead, I'm tempted to have him manage to drag his corpse off to safety and turn up as a recurring villain.

-You wake up on beach and see a few boxes from crashed ship hoping you find weapons, food or equipment only to discover they all are full of uplifting primer copies

Which you then proceed to eat.

EDIT: forgot I already made this joke

100% do this. I love it when my players are careless and don't do simple things like ensure the enemy are dead or... reload their weapons... etc because they want to get on to the next part. But even more importantly, a wee little gretchin with orky cybernetics or tiny orky nob armor is the greatest thing I can think of.

You know your playing Only War when

You roll up a regiment and end up with

the 81th Italicus Drop Troppers

Drop trooping cyber enhanched close combat potato farmers with the tranining of a guardsmen but close to the gear of a stormtrooper.

When you get a mono scythe as part of the bonus gear but everyone trades it in for other gear

When one of the players are a discount scarface.

And when everyone agreed on that our theme song is my combine harvester

"Fetch the combine, boys! There's orks in mah tater fields!"

Please tell me the GM let's you replace the dozer blades on the chimeras with some sort of argricultural harvester/potato hopper.

Don't forget to burn the mutants and wiches!

You can kill a greated deamon of khorn in one turn, however it takes 5 rounds of combat to kill a cultist

In this case don't forget to sanctify it. :D

When, after somehow surviving long enough to be promoted to have command of a platoon, the captain requires the PCs to fill out a summary of their activates at the end of each session.

When the L.T. is constantly almost dying from such diverse circumstances as, getting his fingers bitten off by the Ork Kommando, getting his leg crushed by an artillery shell, and having the booby trap *** alarm send a spear through his lung.

When the PC's platoon is considered to be a prime assignment because, as said by the medic in one of his session reports, "The cogboy said that the shell only became a dud after it hit the L.T.'s leg."
