WFRP 1 on 1

By JPierson, in WFRP Gamemasters

So, I look to you again, oh awesome community! In the past, I have run one on one adventures for D&D and I am trying to run away with my hands in the air from GMing that system anymore. So, with that said, I am wondering if anyone has done WFRP in a one on one setting before? I think the idea of running just one player with a Bounty Hunter or a Witch Hunter would be seriously fun. If you have or have enough experience with the system and can lend a few pointers, please do! Thanks everyone!

I think this has been discussed before, you might search some threads for it.

Essentially, yes that can work, you probably need to give them "sidekicks" but need to abstract those a bit (like pets and retainers are in various supplements) to avoid the burden of actually running more than one character or taking focus off the mainstream character.

A bit more investigation, social etc. and being careful of fights of course.

The default assumption in encounter design in published 3rd edition stuff is 3-4 PC's so encounters definitely need to be re-assessed.

That said some adventures likely can be converted to be run solo - the earlier edition's Rough Night at Three Feathers strikes me as one that could be, in this edition the Lure of Power adventure could be made a one PC-adventure I think, so perhaps could the Wizard box's adventure etc.

ok cool, I will read into those particular adventures. Thanks much valvorik!

I have conversion notes for Rough Night to 3rd edition if you like (you still want the map for the inn from one or other published version though those float around in several sources).

PM me your e-mail address if you would like them. It was my first conversion.
