Having just come off a grnighore tournament at AFK, I'm convince that we have enough local x-wingers to pull off a regular weekend night get together.

If you are in for a regular Friday night gathering at AFK or Evolution, post away! Let's get some dice rolling! Step away from Vassal and put those ships you invested in on the mat.

We can start as early as this Friday 2/13. What good luck.

p.s. I know there are some weekday gatherings in the area, but there are at least 3 of us who need a weekend to pull it off due to work and family commitments - preferably in the evening on the weekend. If Friday night doesn't work, then please post if Saturday night does. Thanks!!!

Friday's are definitely best for me weekly. I could maybe make Saturdays work less frequently.

I am an enthusiastic XWM player in the Lansing area (have a few friends who are into it as well). I/we would be very interested in some sort of regular weekend game. Fri, Sat or Sun would all be possible at the moment but every weekend would be out because that would (possibly) interfere with other gaming I do. maybe every other week at Evo or Fortress Games (I don't know what/where AFK is.

I/we would be especially interested if games included stuff other that 1v1, 100 point, 6 asteroid, death matches. Epic and scenario play are much more... Fun (IMO).

Either location (AFK or Evolution) would be good and not every weekend would be required for sure. What would be nice is to have 4+ show up so that people can rotate and get more experience against different lists and players.

OK, of the folks that have contacted me or replied, it appears we have 4-8 who can do Friday nights on a semi-regular basis.

So 2/13 at 7:30 PM at AFK we are going to try and kick this off. They are open plenty late for 3-4 standard games. Come for as little or much as desired. Main thing is to meet each other and try to keep a critical mass.

I'd make the trip out there again for a 1000pt squad... Now that I sold off half my stuff, do I have enough... Herm... No... Not really. Without epic ships, I only have 357 via base pilots + no upgrades (figure at a minimum though, -6 for CR, +20 for ICT). If we include epic ships though... I now have 547 without upgrades. I feel confident I could make a "decent" list with 450 points of upgrades =P.

Er... it looks like I can only "reasonably" go up to 892... Time to start loading ORDNANCE!!! Oh yeah, totally reasonably. Plus I have a 2 point initiative bid. I can proxy upgrade cards though right? Hehehe...

I'm slightly on the fence just due to schedule. There is a tournament on Sun at Odyssey in Kalamazoo, and if I do that I probably have to skip Fri. But I really want to keep this group rolling. :-) So I will likely be at AFK around 8:30 PM Fri and would love to get a few 100 point games in. Feel free to start whenever though if you need to leave earlier than we did last time. Thanks guys!

I am meeting a friend from K'zoo at AFK at 6:30 for some X-wing. Not sure how long he will be able to stay. I will see if Jay is also interested.

sorry I missed last night guys, we had trouble with one of our vehicles.

We had three players last night (and there were some other people there also playing X-wing).

John (from K'zoo) and I played a 100 v 100 point, standard tournament game first- me playing "Echo" + TIE Bomber and a pair of "squints"; John with Tycho + Keyan + Z-95 + B-wing. I know my list wasn't optimized as a squad but... jeesh! I think I was down by two ships before I finally popped Tycho. I got lucky with a Cluster Missile/Bomb/K-turn attack, crippling but not killing a B-wing but that was about it. We called it when I was down to just "Echo".

Game 2 was a Three Way (hey, it's not gay, if it's in a three way...). Each of us with a 100 pt list, plus Rebels had a fully equipped GR-75 Transport. The premise (and I like to have a premise for my games) was that a Rebel transport sent out a distress signal... and not just the Rebs showed up. Also within ear shot and determined to "rescue" the transport were an Imperial strike group composed of three TIE Bombers and an elite TIE Fighter and a Twin Suns Protection Squad (S & V) lead by Aemon Azzameen. After ten turns of play, my S & V claimed the victory, as I had disabled the GR-75 and had only lost a BTL-A4 Y-wing (run over by the transport), where as the Imps had only "Backstabber" (with 1 Hull remaining) and the Rebs were reduced to Garven and Ibtisam (each with only 1 Hull).

It was fun and I think we will continue the Friday gaming at AFK on a semi-regular schedule.
