[Starships]: Player Dashboard

By GM Hooly, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Thank you sir. Just working on the dashboard re-design now.

Now with all this work, how would one get involved in some play testing :)

Thoughts on latest version of the dashboard:

And yes Phil...10 is now PLAID

Edit to the first post to provide direct links upon entry to the topic.

Looks good. Can you, or anyone for that matter, provide a couple examples of fully filled sheets? How'd they're look in play?

I would love a stack of these for everyship in the system :P

If people would like a MS Word version, I am happy to pass this on as well. That way you can fill out as many as you want. Just copy it out of the official books you've bought

That would be beyond awesome. I was actually considering just taking the base picture and using it as a background in Word, then setting up tables for all the text. But if you've already done that... ;)

And thanks for the examples. That's pretty much what I was looking for. I wanted to make sure I had everything where it was supposed to go and wasn't misusing your tool (er, that sounded dirty, but you know what I mean).

Drop me a private message and I'll send you the link.

You, sir, are the man.

:D

Could just make the dashboard form-fillable in Acrobat so that anyone with a PDF reader can add information and save the form.

Question, is there a way to have in the PDF vrs to modify numbers? As in if stock your freighter is Spd 3, but you added mods and such to make it faster. As well as shields and other mods as they come in?

Also is there a Mods field so we can have our mods in front of us?

Nice work to date.

There is a way. Either have Acrobat (Standard or Professional) or if the PDFs were changed so the fields were form-fillable :)

I've done it before a time or two for things like character sheets.

Sorry, I meant is this setup already made so that you can change in PDF...otherwise you have to buy the program.

I get what you meant, hence the first part of my answer :)

There are also some PDF readers that might be able to edit the file and don't cost anything... oh the joy of the Open Source community... heheh.

If people can assist or offer to teach me how to create a form fillable PDF, I'm more than happy to create that

Can you do one with the eta2 Actis interceptor Silhouette? I can enter the data I just want the outline like you have for the x-wing etc.

awesome. thank you :)

Something to add to your word doc under the weapons is character gunnery skill
Also spots for player pilot skill, computer skill, astrogation skill.. Any other skills relevant?

This is exactly what I was thinking about doing for my ideas of revamping them combat system. But i really had no ability to nicely lay them out. But this is great and i will be definitely using this.

One suggestion I have is for the action sheets is to have a box or circle about a quarter inch in size. So that a player could easily use counters to keep track of their actions during a round. Just more for neatness.

My idea is to give the players counters to represent their actions/manuvers, and then they can place them on the sheet to help them plan things out.

What software do you have access to? That tends to help determine what might be needed. If you're creating the PDFs from Illustrator, then I don't believe you can create the forms for use in Acrobat (reader or otherwise) without access to a PDF editor. I use Acrobat Professional for my work.
