B-Wing Build for Control

By Moore84, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Keyan Farlander - 29pt

- Stay on Target - 2pt

- Advanced Sensors - 3pt

- Heavy Laser Cannon - 7pt

- B-Wing/E2 - 1pt

- Navigator - 3pt

That is the original build that I'm thinking about running with 55pt Dash...Pretty straight forward with the ability to react to lower PS ships

Keyan Farlander - 29pt

- Stay on Target - 2pt

- Advanced Sensors - 3pt

- Ion Cannon - 3pt

- B-Wing/E2 - 1pt

- Tactician - 2pt

This is the build that I'm thinking about changing it to, a lot more controlling but a lot less damage...

What do you guys think I should roll with for a 2 ship list with Dash like I said?

(Have a Corran/Dash list but really want to use Keyan)

OR

With 53pt Dash

Rebel Operative - 16pt

- Ion Cannon Turret - 5pt

- Tactician - 2pt

Rebel Operative - 16pt

- Ion Cannon - 5pt

- Tactician 2pt

I think navigator AND stay on target are a bit redundant. If you need both that often, you're not piloting well. I like intelligence agent better. Cheaper, and rather than help you react even mooore against lower PS ships, it gives you insight as to where the dangerous, expensive, slippery ships are going to go.

Regardless, I don't think B-wings really fit in 2 ship lists. They're awesome, but will get focused down too quickly.

I like those cheap hawk builds though. Rookie with R3-A2 is also 23. Not as much control, but dishes out stress and damage more reliably. Something to think about anyway...

I love the idea of ion operatives escorting Dash.... but how often do you expect the RO's to have front arc to make use of Tactician?

I'd suggest dropping them for other crew (Jan Oars?) Or spending the extra 4 pts on Dash.

What are some other good HWK-290 builds that would work well with Dash?

Jan Oars kitted to personal style.

I like Squad Leader, Recon Spec, Moldy Crow, Blaster Turret.

I could see Roark and a Z-95 being a decent compliment to Dash too. A little low on the damage output but firing that HLC before Whisper shoots and turtles up would be a game changer.

The idea with Navigator and Stay on Target with Keyan is that you are sure to make the move you want AND have a stress token to use his ability.
