"My current collection would fit in about 3-4 times the volume,"
Also, my 2c regarding the product is that it has poor space utilization, I could not afford to waste that much space in my foam.
You have missed the whole idea of this design.
The design is to have the ships, bases and dials all in one tray. To this end the tray sometimes looks to waste space.

I stand by my comment. My current collection would fit in about 3-4 times the volume, and I haven't been very efficient in foam utilization myself.
What does that even mean bro?
Are you saying you have trays that can fit 3-4 times that of the lasertouch trays relative to size?
If so that is the number one stupidest comment I have ever seen on this board.
How big are your trays?
How many ships do they hold?
What did they cost you?
40 small ships 5 large in 40x50 cm. Thickness is 5cm.
I'm not even sure why I'm responding to your comment, you're overly inflammatory.
Your trays are obviously way, way bigger.
If I'm overly inflamatory it's because you deserve it.
Laser touch do good product and you want to shoot them down. Does it make you feel superior to do this? Even though you're not telling the truth?
I notice you avoided stating the cost of your tray. This leaves me imagining a shoddy hunk of crap that you've cut holes in yourself.
I'll stick to my custom cut trays that surround my minis with ample foam and are sized to fit my Laser touch bag (also awesome).
I think you're overreacting. I do not "want to bring Lasertouch down", I just:
a) don't like commercial advertisement over here
b) don't like the empty spaces that I see in their products.
I commented on both of these things, this is my opinion. I also did an off-hand remark related to relative surface usage, because I didn't have access to my collection at the time, which got you pissed off. I found it funny to the point of hilarious that my main problem with my collection is fitting everything into a tray, whereas here it's all about using as many trays as possible.
I have spent a lot of time making by storage and thinking about how to organize it (yes I cut them out myself, so effectively 0$ as opposed to 200? - you tell me). Yes they fit all snuggly. Yes it's quite a large collection at 40-something small ships and 5 large ships. Yes they all fit in one aluminium briefcase. I also put them in vertically to fit more.
I have little space between them because I can **afford** it: The briefcase protects against outside damage so I only have to get them to not bump each other, as opposed to a soft-cover bag. I have tried many things to get them all to fit, I have to restart at some point with wave 5. Sure, this is "shoddy hunk of crap" from your point of view, so I am asking who's attacking who? Actually don't bother answering, this is not worth my time or yours.
