...As a Scum ship?
Is it likely that we will see V-Wing in Set 7?
The New Republic Airspeeder? No.
The Republic Starfighter? No.
...As a Scum ship?
No for one reason: design space. It's the precursor to the TIE fighter and thus is in the 12-15 point bracket. How can it really differentiate itself from the TIE fighter and Z-95 Headhunter?
Bear in mind that the designers stated at GenCon that 12 is the floor for point costs: you can't go cheaper.
Edited by TIE Pilot@SniperSnake28 The Republic Starfighter, as modified by Scums.
Edited by gundamvThe V-Wing may be the precursor, but that doesn't mean that it is the less advanced of the two. TIEs were made extremely cheap in order to be mass produced while the V-Wings still had some more critical systems that TIEs lacked.
I do think Scum would work well with the V-Wings. We've seen that pirates have used the V-Wings and Z-95s as attack ships. I would see the V-Wings fitting a similar role to the X-Wing for Rebels being a more heavily armored fighter but not too expensive.
I sure hope we do! They're the one prequel ship design that I really took a liking to. Really they could even have it as a Scum & Imperial fighter, Scum having access to lower PS pilots, but having the option of salvaged astromechs.
Not likely.
The designers have already mentioned the JumpMaster 5000, YV-666 and G-1A.

The Y-Wing was the precursor of the B-Wing, yet we still have both. The same goes for the TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced, the Interceptor, and the Defender. Also, the Z-95 and the X-Wing.
I would hope the remaining BH ships have priority (and listening to Alex's enthusiasm for them, I suspect they might).
... BH? sorry, that's to short to search for.
Also, the YV would almost certainly be a large base, and there could very well be another small ship released in 7 I think...

You mean the video where he says flat-out they WILL include such things if they thing they are cool?
Yeah, the 'conclusion' in that thread wasn't totally skewed by irrational bias or anything...
Not likely.

No, they really haven't.
Granted, those are the most commonly SPECULATED ships for the Scum faction, as that provides the full set of ('EU', natch) ships for the bounty hunters that appeared in SW5:TESB. So it's at least halfway likely.
But definitely not something anyone 'official' has talked about.
V-Wings are from roughly the same era as Z-95s. Also, I am not talking about stock Republic V-Wings, but rather ones that have been modified by the Black Sun, etc.
Eventually, pirate organizations, such as Black Sun and the Hutt Cartel, used V-wings after salvaging them. They were also used by the Mandalorians around the Battle of Yavin during a skirmish with the Zann Consortium.[6]
In 13 ABY, they were one of many Clone Wars-era vehicle used by the Restored Empire faction of the Empire.[5]

Patox overstated the case a little bit by naming the particular ships, but I'm fairly certain that Alex Davy mentioned the other bounty hunters' ships as a possible future source to draw upon during one of the interviews at the Worlds. It was by no means a confirmation, but it was strongly hinted at that they're in the pipeline, if only conceptually.
The V-wing that would look the part is the ones from Rouge Squadron!
I've read EU comics with Empire remnants using V wings against A wings.
I think they were kept in reserve in some backwater systems.
If we're on about the same vwing/nimbus fighter which are also in the 'dark times' comics (a couple of years or so before yavin i think) then i think a Vwing has as much of a place in this game as an E wing does.
If anything is out of the games remit its the ewing really
Wave 7 had better be huge empire ships. I want to play more epic with huge ships each side
V wing dont think so ![]()
They already have z-95's and scyk's they dont need a third cheap fighter.

But fringers are cheap.

It has shields, is slower, but more maneuverable, and has an astromech. Pretty different. It is actually more effective than a standard Tie, and on par with Squints, but the empire wanted a cheap ship so they scrubbed it.

It's not a cheap ship, it actually is about the same cost as a X-wing.

Barring the comment about E-wings at the end, this is the truth. They are much more advanced than Ties, but the empire didn't want an X-wing type fighter, they wanted a cheap expendable one.
There really isn't a valid reason to not have them in the game aside from the "it's a prequel ship" mentality. If it is different enough from the A-Wing and M-3A then what is everybody arguing over? If I thought it was something that would ulimately be redundant then I wouldn't bother being in support of it's release.

And look at the point costs. The TIE fighter is 12, the Interceptor is 18 and the Defender is 30. A V-wing is worse than a TIE fighter: it'd have to be cheaper. You can't go cheaper than 12 points.

Where'd that come from? Are you mixing it up with the ARC?
