For 32 points you get a ship with two actions that can focus twice and evade two plus times and pilots at skill 9 sporting 3 attack dice! Soontir just became the best value in the game I think. Long live the empire!!!!

Yeah. He'll be a lot harder to hit, until Vader on a Patrol Leader gives him a free throat hug.
He's always been good. Autothrusters will just make him a little more consistent and give him a chance against turrets with Gunner. Lists with no turrets will only see any difference when engaging at range 3.

Auto-thrusters are very nice and all, but every time you get pegged by something that's not a falcon, or a falcon with you in firing arc, or anyone in range 1-2...you better start praying
Not to mention one bump or asteroid is basically game over...
So yeah, I wouldn't say fat. Soontir's an amazing pilot and, imo, about the only thing the empire has that can fill that 32-35 (PTL + Stealth + Royal Guard + Computer = hilarious fun) point niche that Defenders and Phantoms are too expensive for, but that doesn't really qualify as "fat" nor is he anywhere near tanky. Keep relying on arc dodging, thank to the FFG gods that falcons aren't an auto-lol anymore, and have fun!

soontir is almost always going to be out of arc or at range three of han.
han shoots at him. if he gets two hits, soontir always evades, he doesnt need to roll a single dice.
if he gets three hits soontir has between three and four dice (more with stealth) with which to roll a single evade or focus.
the chances of him ever taking any damage are ridiculously tiny.
the real truth is, if those two ships are left, it is basically a stalemate.

I'm not exactly how the math works but I'm taking a guess. Taking the chance of the the desired result (3/8) times the number of dice being rolled (4) give you the average roll results to expect (12/8 = 1.5)? If that's the case, then doing (3/8 x 3) + (6/8) should come pretty close (but be a bit low) to the expected results of using 4 dice with Autothruster. That would give an expected result of just under 2 evades, but because I'm taking a shortcut it's probably actually just over 2.
With focus, it would be close to (5/8 x 3) + 8/8. That would give you an average of around 3 evades if you've got 4 dice, a focus, and Autothrusters.
It seems to me that leaving Soontir for last is out of the question now. He must die quickly or he becomes more dangerous as the game goes on.

Soontir Fel + PTL + Autothrusters + Target Cpu + Royal Guard Title

I'd personally just pick a list that has a hard time with Turrets, and throw in that Soontir Fel to round it out.
It seems to me that leaving Soontir for last is out of the question now. He must die quickly or he becomes more dangerous as the game goes on.

I was trying to figure out a list with something like:
Defender - Ion Cannon+Ion Missle+Munitions Failsafe 37
Doomicron - Rebel Captive(or Mara Jade) 27
Soontir Fel - Title+Thrusters+PTL+Shield Upgrade 36
Abuse of Stress+Ion will make it difficult to keep Fel in check.
What I find interesting about the Autothrusters (particularly on Fel) is that now Hull Upgrade is actually more valuable. I think you are less likely to see 30 points Fel in the future and potentially more likely to see 34/35 point Fel's with either more offense (TC) or more defence (HU).
Also Fel was already one of the best bargains in the game (and I am still more scared of Fel than Phantoms. I can build lists to beat Phantoms, much harder versus Fel). He is now a little more expensive, but a lot more consistent.

If I did my quick calculations just now right, this means that Fel with Autothrusters and Stealth Device, plus a focus to use, has got the following possibilities with 4 dice (too lazy to calculate 5 dice, assumed it's a turret weapon at range 1/2):
1 evade: 2%
2 evades: 13%
3 evades: 33%
4 evades: 52%
Would love to get a confirmation (or proper numbers if mine are completely off) from someone with better knowledge of statistics

My current setup is Fel /w PTL, Autothrusters, Guard Title and TC.
I dont mind not having Hull or Shield, as it makes for better songs of victory.

Like the Han + Predator combo, you can pick and choose what to spend.
I rolled 2 evades and a blank - Autothrusters
2 eyes and an evade - Focus
1 Evade, 1 Blank - Autothrusters + Evade token
Autothrusters are almost enough to make me want to play Imps.
You can stick them on A-wings too..

1 blank, sure. 4+ blanks is still a dead squint. Every Imp player has seen 4+ blanks before. With a shield or hull upgrade, even without an evade or focus you're unlikely to get 1-shotted, and its impossible for an HLC(barring pilot abilities/crew/ect).
