So with all the Bomber love flying around right now i figured id try cobble something together myself and get some opinions.

Rhymer - Flechettes, Proton Rockets

Jonus - Flechettes, Proximity Mines

Scimitar - Flechettes, Proximity Mines

Scimitar - Flechettes, Proximity Mines

Basic tactics. Stress is king atm so Flechettes all around. Initial ranged attack with the Assault Missiles but this list actually benefits from getting in close. Proximity mines are awesome but i also figure a 4 shot Proton Rocket with a possible Jonus reroll may be a nice little surprise over the Bombers usual 2 shots, especially on Rhymer making it an R2 shot.

Infact it was so interesting an option i almost dropped the Flechettes from both of the named guys to try doing it twice lol.

Bomber lovin', happened so fast.

Flechete torpedoes are the easiest to double down on because they are the cheapest ordinance.

2 flechet torpedoes cost the same number of points as 1 proton torpedo.

...Tell me more.

Proton Rockets with Jonus is a nice idea. I'd normally call it a waste for an agility 2 fighter but with the extra range it's not half bad given its ease of use.

Clusters are still better for Jonus' Bombers.

Rhymers ability cost 5 points - so if you use him for a single Proton Rocket shot, this Proton Rocket cost 8 points.

Rockets are harder to fire since they need range 1. I would recommend either proton torpedoes or concussion missiles since you get the rerolls.

Yes, i toy with lists, test them on Vassal etc. I dont have the disposable income to build fleets on a whim.

Yeah, with 12 points spare i wouldnt bother with Stealth Device. Id bump all up to Gamma Squadron with Jonus and that load out but then, R1 Proximity Rockets.

Between the Rockets and Mines, anything that stays outside of R1 will dominate you.

Stealth Device gives you the extra damage on the Proton Rocket to get it up to 5 dice.

I'm loving all the bomber love.

I've been a huge lover of the Bomber since Wave 3. My favorite Imperial ship. Love running Jonus with two Gamma's loaded up. Throw in a couple of Academy Pilot's as blockers and you have yourself a solid list. Not sure how well it handles since the Phantom's release, but it's still a fun squad.

I seriously can not wait to see what goodies are in store for the Bomber in the future.

I have a bomber-based list that I use every once in a while that I call Vader and the Jonus Brothers that is detailed below.

Vader in the TIE Advanced with Expose and a Stealth Device as my flanker/finisher

Jonus in his underpants

2x Scimitar Squad with Assault Missiles

The Assault Missile alpha strike is just brutal against low agility ships and swarms. I like to target B-Wings and YTs and let the splash damage wash over the rest of the formation. I have taken off half the HPs of a rebel formation on turn 2 before. The real weakness is that after the alpha strike you are left with a bunch of 2 attack-dice ships that have trouble doing damage. Vader is extremely hard to pin down and damage.

I am trying to figure out a way to get a Proton Bomb on Jonus. People are just terrified of Proton Bombs in my area.

Expensive list to build unless you need three firesprays :)
