Leebo ionises the Outrider, giving even the Alpha interceptor a chance to exploit that hole. That, and Waves 5 and 6 are so close together that this mystery interceptor upgrade isn't far off.

Only Leebo (Crew ) card gives the Outrider only one ion token after giving him a free boost. It takes 2 ion tokens to ionize the Outrider.

Do you only plan on boosting once?

This is pretty wrong. I mean even ignoring the Phantoms, there were some pretty good use of normal sized ships used at Worlds.
