I for one welcome our new overlords.
YT-2400s with HLC and the Outrider title will be less of a problem for Interceptors than Han with Gunner was. High PS Interceptors will have a decent chance of getting into the Outrider's donut. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing a lot more Carnor Jax if focus stacking Outriders become popular.
Idk, my Fat Soontir has proven pretty stalwart.
Course. he hasn't dealt with the likes of a 360 HLC before, I really hope it doesn't just remove Squints from the game, they're my favorite... ![]()

The Outrider title is incompatible with Gunner and Luke. I think both of those are bigger threats to Interceptors than HLCs are.
Autothrusters will flip this on its head.
If you think you can get Soontir into the donut void of Leebo with HLC, let me see you post a video link of you doing it. Leebo plays the part of a cat who doesn't want attention. Come close; go away.
Interceptors are toast.

So say we all.

WHERE IS THE PREVIEW ARTICLE! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR WEEKS!
I MUST KNOW!
Make way for Leebo w/ HLC.
Leebo the pilot or leebo the crew?
Leebo you say? Why not Vrill/Jan? Dodge that Soontir.

I'll be more worried about chasing down Dash than I will Leebo. Being able to pick his crit is a nice ability but it's not even something that will come into play every game. Dash hurtling straight through asteroids might cause some heartburn though.
In all serioiusness, I don't see much hope for the once-awesome interceptors.

So why is Leebo with HLC and Outrider going to be any worse for Interceptors than Han with Gunner has been? I'm just not seeing it.
Green dice have murdered more Soontirs than Dash will ever get a chance to
Don't forget about Decimators with Expose. That's a soon to be thing also.
Wait until Accuracy corrector come back and you start to see low agility ships getting kicked in the droid bleeps because they can't negate an attack.

Okay obstructed behind an asteroid at range 3 with 3 agility so 5 dice plus focus. (rolls 5 blanks). The force was not strong with this one.
I have a 9s list I flew tonight.. Vader, Soontir, and Turr.. VI'd Turr, and gave Fel the PtL love and a stealth device for both squints, and Vader had EU, PRocs and Adrenalin rush..it was nice to see where my opponent was at and be able to decide how to boost and barrel roll into advantageous positions to shoot him down.. High PS is always a good thing and can strip some clever hijinks to their bare minimums..
Having an all interceptor squad is probably not viable, but having an interceptor as a flanker is still in play. Fat Han hasn't stop people from playing interceptor. It just made them find different tactics to use.
Besides, I prefer playing Dash with HLC. FLying through asteroids is fun. Though once I did lose my HLC from a crit and Leebo's ability would have been better.
Soontir Fel will move after the Outrider, boost and/or barrel roll into range 1 of Outrider and eat that ship alive. At least that was the outcome of our tests.
In case the outrider moves way out of range, then Soontir will also stay out of range.

So why is Leebo with HLC and Outrider going to be any worse for Interceptors than Han with Gunner has been? I'm just not seeing it.
For one, Gunner gave you a second primary attack if you missed the first - which usually burned your defensive token(s), so the second attack connected hard; but that attack still gave you the range 3 modifier, giving you a chance to make due without the defensive tokens
Outrider with HLC can't give you that since it disallows primary attacks, so you will have at least one (with PTL two) defensive tokens on hands to survive this one attack; but with Lone Wolf or Predator you get a pretty good chance to one shot at range 3 (since an Intercepter only gets his 3 green dice, instead of four)
As for the difference between Han and Leebo; Leebo mitigates damage keeps the HLC in play (as you can simply discard any munitions failure you draw) but relies on actions to get his attack modifiers - likewise he can disgard all damage cards that count/are potentially two damage; Han only gets to boost both attacks without need for an actions
EDIT: Don't post before morning coffee - morning coffee clears the confusion ![]()
Dash has nice firepower but he's PS 7 so higher ps interceptors will eat him alive, leebo is even worse off in that regard.
Also there are less hit points to deal with even with an extra agility, 3PO works far less effectively with two green dice so it'll be less beneficial to turtle.
It'll be a good ship it's hardly the equal of a fat Han.
Idk, my Fat Soontir has proven pretty stalwart.

According to the information from people who've actually played against Outriders, Squints are amazing against them because they're really good at exploiting the donut hole, Soontir especially. Given that Dash is PS9 and VI doesn't seem common in what I see suggested for him, Soontir, Carnor and VI Phennir sound like they'll be brutal against him.
Leebo ionises the Outrider, giving even the Alpha interceptor a chance to exploit that hole. That, and Waves 5 and 6 are so close together that this mystery interceptor upgrade isn't far off.

Only Leebo (Crew ) card gives the Outrider only one ion token after giving him a free boost. It takes 2 ion tokens to ionize the Outrider.

Which means he will ionize the ship every other time he is used.
