Well Robin, here's the thing. In most RPGs, the Twilek's get a charisma bonus. Bioware has been pretty bad at propagating the "males are ugly" myth, but in other media the younger males are just as attractive to other races as the females. I have no problem with having a species that capitalises on their attractiveness to others as a common cultural trait, as long as there are exceptions to the rule, which is why I love Hera.

Let's face it, in the human-dominated Civil War era, any alien species that can pull of both attractive AND exotic is going to be able to use that to get ahead. I can totally see a bunch of male twilek's finding their way into the service of high-ranking Imperial officers as personal servants, as in Tarkin and Akbar. (Not suggesting there was anything between them in that way, just that it establishes precedent).

If there is one positive thing about the Rebels show, it's finally having a good positive twi'lek role model. Although it would of been massively awesome had they made Hera be that little twi'lek girl the clones saved in that one episode. Could of been a great way to link the two series together.

First off - I'm a socialist too.

Second - I agree, the Soviet Union's posture for most of the Cold War was defensive.

That said: Global politics can go screw itself. And no, I've never believed Russians = baddies. People are people, some good some bad. That said, the Soviet Union was a corrupt oppressive regime that used manufactured famine, mass deportations, and torture to suppress freedom of expression (Religious, sexual, artistic, philosophical, etc...) and enrich the core elite at the expense of the nation. I'm not regurgitating a biased history class either - I visit the former SU as much as I can - twice this year in fact. I have scores of friends there I've known for decades and I love the culture, people, food, music and language. None of them speak well of the Soviet Union. Sure, they can list some good things, just like the Nazi's built the autobahns, but it hardly justifies the suffering.

To quote Putin: "Whoever does not miss the Soviet Union has no heart. Whoever wants it back has no brain."

Yes, the west has some pretty sinister skeletons in it's closet, and they need to be dragged out and dealt with. But we have, and have had, freedoms that the Soviet Union's citizens never did.

That would have been cool. But Hera is green and that little girl is of the blue type. But there is a connection. In that story arc,(or maybe another one involving Ryloth), Mace Windu, in order to fight the Separatish droids, joins the Twilek freedom fighter Cham Syndulla. The female owner/pilot of the Ghost in Rebels is...Hera Syndulla. She is related to(most likely his daughter)the character from the Clone Wars show.

Teen twi'lek wearing tight latex in almost the same color as her skin. That's not very non-sexual...
