Each PC is a bit of a hodgepodge of their given careers' specializations. It goes along with the game's mor simplified approach to everything. Each PC has dozens of sessions' worth of choices for XP expenditure, so they can work really well for quite a long time.

However, if you want to convert any of the heroes in the beginner game to the Core game rules, I would just refund the talents and have the player select one specialization as his "first."

Cael would work best as a Commando in my opinion.
