i'm playing the final 'minefield' part of the tantive campaign tonight as the rebels.
i was going to take this as my force, (100 points of rebels with the stock Cr90 you have to take)

I've played with 4 y-wings once, it was super fun, but also a 3-hour game. If you need to stall them, take this:
Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
R5-P9 (3)
Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
R5-D8 (3)
Gold Squadron Pilot (18)

Total: 98

Keep two in front, where you can trigger mines (the ones with capable astromechs), follow up with the corvette at max speed. Ionise everything around you and make your escape. Don't bother killing anything or shooting with the corvette. Reinforce and Recover.
Genius, that sounds like a wicked plan.
Much as i'm not normally a fan of Biggs (dont like forcing my opponent to make choices) i was going to use him to screen the CR90 but have since found out that in the FAQ he doesnt work with huge ships.
The Biggs errata is only in the Epic Play Tournament Rules, not the X-Wing FAQ. Are you sure it applies here? I'll be honest, I've not read much on the applicability of the EPTR to normal huge ship play. (There are huge ship items in the X-Wing FAQ, so I assume if it was meant to be a general errata, it would be in the FAQ, too.)
The GSPs are nice for their ability to Ion every turn, but I would be tempted to throw in Lt. Blount (Z-95) + Ion Pulse Missiles (20). He automatically hits, even if he doesn't do damage. So you have the capability to automatically ionize any ship, including a Shuttle or Firespray. Then he can go scout asteroids ![]()
I'd feel i was loopholing if its been determined that bigs cant screen a huge ship in huge battles but , perhaps because of an oversight, is still allowed to in a scenario?
Not sure on that one.
Definitely ditch Biggs and 3P0. You want/need the CR-90 to survive, not the escorts, so sink the points into offensive capabilities. I'd also strongly recommend dropping Han in favor of more ships, preferably something fast, like A-Wings with Prockets. When I played this, my X- and B-Wings were far too slow, and could only engage one of the four groups.
Hmm so fast interceptors or an ioning escort... tough choice.
Im thinking that sian is very objective focussed (as you should be) and i dont know if i can rely on knocking out enough with a wings.. but hey with proton rockets possibly. I do like the idea of anything coming into range 1-2 where the tantive cant fit them is meat for the ION turrets though
FYI - if you are going to play by the Epic Tournament rules, it was pointed out to me, and you should also note that under those rules, Huge Ships start with Full Energy. (See page 2, #8). If you play by normal rules, they start with no energy.
So they are definitely 2 different rules sets. Just pick one and run with it ![]()
If the Imperial squad is using bombers, I'd take Wes over Biggs. Being able to shoot the target locks off the Corvette is pretty nice.
