Command struggle w/Tau question

By sammann11, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest - Strategy

I have a Tau deck I like pretty well, but 1 question:

Do you think I should swap out the Eldar Survivalist for the Tau Trailblazer to help with command?

Obviously the Eldar is nice with the +1/+1 resource grab, but I've seen alot of love for the Trailblazer on the forums, both here and over at cardgamedb, due to the fact that he's mobile and can avoid getting snip'ed by the opposing warlord.

Thoughts?

Mobility is really good asset. You can use it to win command struggles in planets you're not going to have a fight, to join units to battles and "surprise" your opponent and more, so I think you should keep the Tau.

I use them both for both my Eldar and Tau decks. YMMV.

A lot of it depends on the composition of the rest of your deck, of course.

I'd agree. If you must choose between them, ask yourself if you find yourself needing the bonuses from the Survivalist. (They're never BAD, of course, but are they the only thing standing between you and getting completely hosed on cards or resources?) If yes, stick with the Survivalist. If no, you'll probably find the Trailblazer's Mobile (and 1 ATK...) more versatile.
