I'm the minority here. I'm only buying one of everything. I was a bit dismayed when there was only one interceptor but then the aces came out.

It depends on budget and if you want to compete in tournaments. I fly casually, and with one of everything I have enough variety.

With most wanted and the aces packs FFG have shown that they will do repaints and rereleases with no double unique pilots. You could sell off the doubles, but with most people buying multiple starters, the chances of this is slim, leaving you with a number of useless cards. Spend the money on more expansions I say.

There is a fair point there in that if you are not playing this game competitively then that would change your focus on your purchases. My thoughts were from a competitive point of view.

I bought 4 core sets. I guess I'm in the minority of the majority?

I to only have one core set. I dont need more then 3 Ties cos ill never fly a swam dont think there is any upgrade card in the core set i didnt get some where eles. I only needed 4 x wings one from the core one from the transport and 2 expansion. R5 only is in expansion and I needed 2 of them.

If you want the swam its good but I would instead buy 2 ships you want now and if you need replacement damage deck, range ruler, templates and tokens buy one later if you need to

I bought three. Simply can not overstate how nice it is to have 6 ties and three x's and all the dice and templates. Thanks to the transport I have 5 x's now so if you only want 4 and you want a transport then get two and wedge, but I would say two is a minimum number of starters unless yiu really don't ever want to try a tie swarm.

Yes, buy two starters and an X-Wing pack and you've got Wedge, Luke, Biggs. Buy two starters and a TIE Fighter pack and you've got Howlrunner + 4 TIE Fighters for her to lead.

I think one exception is if you want to focus entirely on Scum ships, in which case you should wait for the Most Wanted set. You still need templates though, but you might be able to get that from a friend or online.
