MOST WANTED PART 2

By Babaganoosh, in X-Wing

You can't use his ability if you start a maneuver stressed. Even if you do a green. Kind of hampers him quite a bit.

I'm guessing the scum generic HWK pilot will be 15 points.

What's wrong with Night Beast?

The way the wording of the card interacts with the activation phase timing. If "Night Beast" had been worded like Outlaw Tech (with the obvious difference in maneuver color), his ability wouldn't be useless when you need it the most. Instead he gets an unintentional nerf, because FFG doesn't like to errata unless something is flat-out broken.

Ahh that would do it. Yeah I can see how taking the token instead of the action would bolster his ability quite a bit.

As Imperials, I often fly firespays and as Rebels I tend to use y-wings. Looks like Scum is going to be my faction!

I assume it's the "perform" versus "complete" a green maneuver?

"After executing"

Has FFG said that he can't do it after a red? Because using "assign" on him would allow him to double focus.

It's in the FAQ--WAAAGH is right.

I'd be okay with a double-focus on a two-attack ship, but as was already explained to me it's that he's trying to perform the action before the "clear pilot stress" step.

Hence my droopy ears. #sadboys

Dace is actually my favorite pilot of the HWKs as of right now. First of all, he counters Leebo and Feedback. Especially Feedback. In addition, he makes shooting Ion Cannons at a large ship without triggering the ion effect something really good. Here's the strategy: a cheap Y-wing (or even better, Mux) with an ion cannon shoots Han and puts an Ion Token on him. Voila! one free damage a round. Just don't shoot him with the Ions again and he cannot lose that token. Pretty sweet, huh?

Dace damages a ship when it received the ion token. Leaving it lingering on the ship from turn to turn won't cause additional damage.

Palob is awesome. Can't wait to run him with recon specialist, blaster turret, and the moldy crow title. Expert handling would be an interesting EPT for him (or anyone flying with him), because it would allow total action denial.

Barrel Rolling Hwks... yep. That could be a thing.

Given the release of the Phantom and Decimator in the past few months, it's really hard for me to take posts like this seriously...

Don't forget the Defender.

Never forget the Defender...

Y-wing +Ion Cannon Turret + BTL-A4 and Dace make for some strong control + damage options. I am hoping for some stress dealing options other then tactician for a real shot at a control squad.

I've added all new cards to X-Wing Companion :)

Emon.

Has anyone noticed that the Outlaw Tech is limited? I wonder if this hints at a large ship with two crew slots.

I think FFG is just trying to future-proof it. The Scum Y-Wing required them to create a whole new class of droid to ensure they couldn't use R2D2. Meanwhile, there's nothing to keep the Scum from using the Moldy Crow even though that really should be considered a Rebel-Only title.

I disagree, according to Wookiepedia, palob owned the crow for awhile... Wtg ffg fluff-masters!

Never forget the Defender...

It truly breaks my heart how people want to truly believe in the Defender... to the point of self-delusion and witnessing 'miracles'...

But inevitably, even the most fanatic whorshippers will question their faith when they realize what the new ships and upgrades are capable to do... for the same price as the Defender... or less...

Would you call those people.... Defender defenders?

Certainly. Such a beautiful irony...

Meh. The Defender is good. Not meta bending, but once you get the hang of its peculiarities, they can perform nicely. It isn't for everyone though.

Derp. My bad.

This is awesome. Once again, liking how the Scum specialize in secondary weapons, as those are otherwise IMHO underused by other factions. Also like how they have tricky abilities that can disrupt the opponent.

Can the IG-2000 take crew? Because if so, the Outlaw Tech is calling Mr. crazy Segnor's name.

Nope but you can put advanced sensors on it, so that's practically the same thing or even better as you can potentially boost before moving.

As for my thoughts on the new cards, that k4 security droid will go really well on Dace or basically anyone with opportunist (I'm looking at you Palob). HWKs can fly just a little bit faster with the outlaw tech on board (though there's no Nien Nunb, but this works too). Emon (with title and bombs) and Kath are going to be interesting to fly as now you *want* to keep everyone behind you instead of simply doing so when convenient. I also just realized that it's now possible to have a six-dice attack with just one upgrade card, Kath with opportunist firing from the rear arc at range 1. Normally that would take an advanced proton torpedo + opportunist (or Jan Ors) or an HLC (or range 1 E, X or B-Wing) + Jan + opportunist. If you're fielding Palob you also stand a decent chance of getting those six dice fairly often. Nasty.

I think it's time for me to buy a second HWK and Firespray!

Mandalorian Merc is my new favorite pilot

I needed this today. So nice to have brain food to consume and turn the brain off for a minute or 30.

So, is 5 Proxy Mines in a Scum squad too many?
