So i proxied two BTL-A4 titles yesterday:

Dutch w/ BTL-A4, R2-D6, Marksmanship, and Blaster Turret
Gold w/ BTL-A4, R3-A2, Ion Cannon Turret
Garven Dreis w/ R7
Bandit w/ Ion Pulse

Went up against Kenkirk w/ Recon, Jerjerrod, Ysanne, Determination and Buzzsaw Whisper.

My god. The deeps. Dutch/Garven combo is BRUTAL. Whisper got caught a mm within R2 of Dutch, and that was about all she wrote. Fire with Garven at your target to get a token out of the way, pass the focus to Dutch, and let her rip. The Gold i didn't get as much mileage out of sadly as he got focused hard. But Dutch gimped his way out of the fire storm and got turned around for a barrage at Kenkirk after he was down to 7-8 hull. Hit/Crit followed by Hit/Hit/Crit. Ladies and gentlemen, the Large ship counter has arrived.

I might not recommend flying two all the time, and i really want to try the gold with bombs as well. I've just never used them before and i didn't want to try out too many things at one time.

Not quite sure I understand...how is Dutch using marksmanship and lending out target locks?

Just read up on BTL-A4.

Holy crap.

Slow roll in and pass out the TLs at R3. Also remember you can target lock one guy, and have the buddy TL someone completely different. I came down the middle, TL the Decimator on my Left with Dutch, and threw the TL to my Bandit on Whisper at R3 on the right.

Target locks in this list is just gravy, thought about using a Gray, but Dutch has a special place in my heart. also keeping the PS at 6 helps against the PS2's my local meta like to run, and helps me keep my movements in sync with Garven, as i tend to forget who's moving on otder when i have too many different PS on the table.

I'm going to love the R1 shots from Drea Renthal with Blaster Turret+R4-B11. Just aqcuire a TL at R3 and you'll have TL's on both attacks at R1 or you can use the TL's to force the defender to reroll his dice!

Whilst I've not had a chance to try it yet, I do get the feeling that most people are underestimating the BTL-A4. Whilst the Y-Wing isn't necessarily the most maneuverable fighter around, if you can start ioning your target you don't need to be.

That said, I am still more excited about the prospect of ioning a target and letting it drift onto a proton bomb

Correct on both counts Neko. That's why I plan on running Kavil with a bacon..er..Ion turret and 2 BLT's with blasters. The unhinged Astromech might be the thing that keeps scum Y's on target. I think the Rebel Y sort of wins out with the utility of the R2 mech.

EDIT: Oh and, bacon.

Yeah, I hadn't really thought about it against big ships, or indeed anything with very low agility, I suppose it is handy in those situations. Which means you can use Y-Wings to counter both the very nimble (with a turret) and the very tough (with BTL-A4). I predict a few Y-Wing only lists (some with bombs!)!

Actually having Most Wanted in my hands will make me feel good inside.

I think the Y-wing upgrades are just going to be icing on the cake.

Come in with the two Y's headed towards the primary target with two Z's on either side and slightly behind. After ioning target swing the Z's in to hit from out of arc at R 1 while the Y's drop bombs and K-turn if needed.

I'm absolutely fine with people who won't eat bacon for religious reasons - just so long as they don't mind the fact that I don't do religion for bacon reasons

BTL-A4 is going to be so awesome! The Garven / Dutch combo has always made sense. I cannot wait for Most Wanted to get here so I can take these cool new Y-Wings out for a spin!
