Mission control: Wording help.

By DariusAPB, in X-Wing

Hi guys, So i'm setting up a campaign in mission control - i'll probably release act 1 (3-6 missions) in a couple of weeks.

One Dynamic of this campaign is that ships gain XP, but i don't want them to increase in price. Likewise resources are taken from certain pools (astromech pool for rebels, ordnance pools for each). So for example an academy pilot is 12 points, it gains 5 XP. 1 XP=1 point to spend on upgrade to pilot card/ept/modifications it can become a black squadron pilot, or have a shield gen etc.

How would I best phrase this?

Well, it might be best to put all that into a website and then link it there. To input it into Mission Control might be too combersome. You can even create a thread here and link it.

You could also make a mission control page where you go through all the setup. J Rhea did something like that for his battle of yavin campaign.

For the exact wording, I'd go with something like:

(Pilot somehow gains XP). XP can be spent to improve ships, by promoting the pilot to a more elite squadron, or equipping upgrade cards from your upgrade pools.

Pilots may be promoted by spending XP equal to the difference in cost between their starting pilot card and the pilot card they are being promoted to. Pilots may only be promoted to pilot cards that use the same ship class they currently use. (Give example). (Say whether they can be promoted to elite pilots here. I suggest you allow it, but once you promote someone to an elite pilot they cannot be promoted again, and if they die nobody can be promoted to that pilot ever again).

Pilots may equip upgrade cards by spending XP equal to the cost of the upgrade card. Pilots may only purchase upgrades that can be equipped according to their pilot card's upgrade slots. (Example).

That's kinda what I am looking for. I might release my Search and rescue mission early for this.

I've put up my Search & Rescue mission which will be a repeating part of the campaign as a beta.
