I hope they make a million bucks off the resale of these classic Star Wars games...
It will guarantee support for them into the future and the next generation.

Who knows. maybe it'll prompt someone into making X-wing Vs tie fighter 2. complete with a mission+campaign editor.

We can only hope..
holy crap this is too freaking cool! it comes with both the original 1994 version and the updated one from 1998! it even includes the Stele Chronicles! That was a short story book that told you about Maarek Stele and how he joined the Empire and training to be a TIE Pilot.

So excited...
Will it also include the Farlander Papers?

Edited by YwingAceSpeaking of this I need technical help for XWA, I followed the guide to installing it on modern systems, but whenever I try to launch it, it says Direct Draw init failed at 2 or something like that, anyone know what that means and how to fix it?
I just realized. More to come, so an emulation layered XWA and XvTBOP. - XvTBOP without the disk swap bug!!!!!!!!!!!!
The future is bright.
I will show my friends why I am death on black wings.
Thanks!
When I put them in my cart on GOG and try to checkout I only get "YOUR ORDER IS EMPTY" ![]()
I have tried login out/in several times
Anyone else having this problem?
PURCHASED. DOWNLOADED. INSTALLED. RUN.
I might be excited to play TIE Fighter again.....
If anyone gets the games up and running, can you please report on whether the music is iMuse MIDI, or just John Williams sound clips?
Thanks!
I'll be buying them anyway tonight, but I'm curious!
Also, I heard that emplacement turrets in TIE Fighter sometimes didn't fire on you because of an assembly bug that required a certain processor when run on an x64 system. I wonder if that has been fixed...
Edited by PygonNow if only Steam could get Jedi Knight to work properly.
SO i bought tie fighter it today installed it worked right off the bat really happy to spend the money.
Played the first mission could not remember any of the controls and am not used to a joystick anymore but i look forward to relearning.

The problem somehow solved itself ![]()
Purchased and installing the 'classic' versions of X-wing and TIE Fighter now!
edit: eew... loads of graphic bugs in the classic '1994' TIE Fighter on my pc. I can also see that it is based on the floppy disk version and not the superior Collectors CD-ROM with higher resolution. Guess you can't have everything.

I don't know if they fixed that for DOS but the 1998 version had that fixed back in the day. As for the music, the old 1994 version has the classic iMuse MIDI in all it's glory while the 1998 verison has the Red Book John Williams music. It's pretty dang cool getting both verisons in one. Although you do have to download them seperately and the 98 one requires a flight stick while the 94 can still be played with a mouse.
Someone asked about the Farlander Papers, it doesn't have it seperate like TIE Fighter does with the Stele Chronicales. But it looks like it's in the strategy guide for X-Wing. They have a download for it. I just flipped through it, pretty cool they straight up scanner the old strategy guide book page for page and bundled it with the game. TIE Fighter comes with one too.
Please let me know if someone out there does a reskin of the graphics. If not, I might just wait until the X-wing vs Tie Fighter comes out. That does allow for multi player, right? So.....sweet.
Where can one get an affordable joystick these days?
My dad said he should get either a joystick or controller to play this.
The mere concept of using a controller to play X-Wing made me want to throw up.
Might have to buy a PC again. **** wish they did a Mac version. Spent ages of my down time in the 90s on Xwing and TIE Fighter.
Wish it had the updated graphics but I'll take this!
I'm so excited.

To be sure, press escape and then check the resolution.
