Of course you liked it as a kid, kids are morons hey like anything with explosions and flashing lights.
Its if you can sit down as an (alleged in my case) adult and still enjoy it, i can watch the OT endlessly even fully acknowledging plot holes and bad acting, the PT just bores me and i end up doing something else instead of watching the screen.

I'll grant you that I might be a moron, because I also tend to "like anything with explosions and flashing lights." ![]()
Isn't that part of what makes Star Wars awesome?!

The point was we were all morons when kids, we all liked things that were garbage ![]()
For as simple as the OP's title post was I'm worried for the health of the forum. Anyone who thinks they're won't be a prequel game/added content is kidding themselves. The writing is on the wall. It will happen for almost all the reasons the OP listed.
There is a market, there is a product design ready to go. All they are doing is waiting for the opportune time to do it.
Right now they are pushing the OT for a myriad of reasons to build interest for the new installment. That will run for about three to six years in theaters, the sequel cartoon will run another two in tandem with the side stories and video game stories. And when the new dust settles and the saga is complete the whole kit and caboodle will keep running as one giant money engine. That includes the PT, sucks if you can't deal. For the rest of us it's awesome.
Now x-wing will live on for probably that whole time as each chapter of this never ending story will bring new ships for us to use which is fantastically fortunate.
I just am real disappointed that despite the very well laid out title post this forum still can't handle the topic. ffs guys this is the FFG hosted forum. Would love to chat about this but this is all we ever accomplish. #goddamnit
we will probably get some 'Rebels" stuff...but no Prequel games. The CEO has stated that a few times.

Really? How well do you think a game titled Star Wars: Naboo Fighter would sell?

And we're not just talking about comparing a prequel-based game the X-Wing Miniatures Game, but also to Imperial Assault, to Armada, and to what would be a truly inevitable game based on the events of Episode VII when it arrives.
Because that's three games that FFG will be developing, producing and selling before the new trilogy arrives. Once the new, sequel trilogy arrives, the focus will surely shift even further away from the prequel trilogy.
TL;DR?
Of course you liked it as a kid, kids are morons hey like anything with explosions and flashing lights.

I liked the PT as an adult. I was an adult when it came out, though I grew up with the OT and have always liked that too. A strong case could be made that I am not a moron, neither was I a moron in 1999.
For those of you frothing, slavering OT-only purists—you are not the universal arbiters of taste. If a PT game is made, you are welcome not to purchase it.
At any rate, common decency suggests you could afford those who are interested in PT the freedom to discuss their interest in a venue void of your cynical assholery. I don't think an occasional thread on the FFG forums is too much to ask.
Live and let live.

A lot of good things came from the prequels in terms of cool stuff in the star wars universe.
ARC170 starfighters, Y-wing (bling edition) Mandalorian Starfighters, LAAT gunships modified for space. Acclamators and Republic starships.
I would be cool with seeing some of this enter the game.

What we've said here regarding a PT game is not at all out of bounds, and in no way does some arbitrary, fictional timeframe give you license to "hassle" anyone.
Whatever your opinion of this forum or the game it relates to, this thread is in fact dedicated to the prequels, and you have visited it for no purpose at all except to antagonize. You are certainly the least-qualified to be making any suggestions about courtesy.

What if a pirate faction gets ahold of some clone war tech and upgrades them? ARC170s were awesome.
If they were going to do a core set I don't think they would start with the N-1 Starfighter considering it was a planetary fighter not a Republic fighter. I think something more like the Arc-170 or the V-19 torrent would work. Or if they really wanted to push the jedi aspect maybe a single delta 7 along with the two vulture droids.
And to tell the truth the clone wars was a cool period, it was just WAY over saturated with the comics, shows, films, games etc.... But that doesn't distract from what could very well be a cool "update" to X-wing at some point.
Heck imagine running a campaign from episode 3 through the galactic civil war with Jedi on the run and stuff!
Granted the N-1 might not make the core set, but I'd argue it's iconic enough (and certainly had some place in that galactic conflict) to at least be featured in the first wave of expansions. If they make a M3-A Scyk for XMG, they sure as heck can make an N-1 for a prequel game.
I do agree that a Delta-7 and two vulture droids would be a good core set.

Given that i wasn't even talking to you i don't see why you got so bent out of shape, you jumped in taking umbrage at a comment that had nothing to do with you.
I said all kids are morons and included myself in that statement and its true we are gullible willing to trust authority figures with out sound reason, we like things that make adults cringe not for any deep reason but because to our under developed minds its cool.
What i did not say is everyone that likes the prequels is a moron, just that when we are kids we don't care about story arcs or intrigue we care about loud noises flashing lights and our favourite good guy winning.
I did say : "Its if you can sit down as an (alleged in my case) adult and still enjoy it, i can watch the OT endlessly even fully acknowledging plot holes and bad acting, the PT just bores me and i end up doing something else instead of watching the screen."
I've mentioned this before, but there's basically 3 ways they can do this.
1) Add prequel/clone war ships to the current factions - Would work especially good with the new scum faction as almost all of it's ships were around during this time period so they obviously prefer older stuff.
2) Create new factions and throw a set "time period" out the window. You could add a Republic and Confederacy faction, as well as new factions for the sequels (new republic, new empire, etc?). Would be like the old Galactic Battlegrounds PC game if anyone remembers that.
3) Make a separate but compatible game as many have mentioned. It would get it's own tournaments, but if they kept the rules and game play the same, you could do crossover games in casual play.

I'm voting for #3.
#4 - Stop producing new ships / factions for about a year. Produce one imperial huge and keep the existing supply chain full.
