I agree with this. I have not written them off as S&V. And I am sure that as the show goes on, the characters will face more and more of a moral dilema when it comes to their thieving and being "scummy" I just think that we will see the ship introduced into the game before Rebels Season 4 or whenever they become full fledged members of the Rebel Alliance/start the Rebel Alliance/ or how ever they become affiliated. And again I think that S&V could use a turreted large and Rebels have no need of one.

So I looked up the Otana on Wookieepedia and I do remember that ship. And I would love to see it in this game. I still think we need the Ghost in this game too.

The Otana is from X-wing Alliance, and is much more suitable choice considering it isn't way to large to be a large base.

I'd put it on par with the Ghost at this point. But the Ghost will pull away the longer Rebels is on TV. The Otana was a big part of one game, and a very good game so lots of us know what it is.

But it was also very much part of the Rebel Alliance for that game, because the whole campaign in the game involved you working with the Rebels and flying Rebel ships.

I could see the VCX-100 being both a Rebel and S&V ship, having a pack with cards, dials and base plates for both. But there is no way possible it will be a S&V only ship, Disney would never let FFG do that. They wouldn't want the flag ship of the TV show out there without being tied to the TV show. The fact that the Rebels may not need another turreted ship doesn't factor into it in the least, it's all about the IP and what Disney wants.

Size wise, it's 43.9m long, per Disney and the VT-49 is 38, so it's about 6m longer. That would make it 16.25cm or 6.3 inches. About 1 inch longer then the YT-1300

I would say that for every Han Solo, there were probably another 9 smugglers flying YT1300s who weren't interested in playing Mr Nice Guy, and it would be nice to see some of those as options for scum fleets, the same as is being done with the Firespray.

Giving the Ghost pilot cards to be used in scum lists would just be the same thing, with the added advantage that you can put both flavours of card in the initial launch (instead of having to wait for some expansion like you would do for the YT1300/YT2300).

Identity is not an objective concept. If people want to have a wall of separation, and feel they're not getting it, then they're going to say that the identity is lost. While I like the idea of having distinct different factions that all do different things nicely and neatly with little crossover, ethat is not real life or "real life" in the Star Wars Universe. There are many factions all using some of the same tech. So I don't really have a problem with different factions in the game sharing ships or upgrades or whatever, as long as there are equal opportunities for said sharing. Unfortunately as of now, the only faction that will have their tech boosted by the new S&V factions release is the Rebels.(at least as far as ships go with new options for ywings, hwks, and z95s) Maybe when the spoiler article for the Firespray goes up it will be revealed that there are going to be some upgrades that will greatly boost the Firespray, but I find that unlikely.

I agree that lore has to make way for game design. And I do like having distinct factions, but you have to admit there would be a lot less whining about game unbalance if all factions had some of the same options. And I forgot about the new cannons to be honest.

Maybe lore isn't important to you, but it is important to a lot of people. Maybe you feel comfortable calling Star Wars just 'fluff' to let you play your tactical contest games, but you're not the only one with a valid opinion here. Lore should also be important to FFG too, because that's what brings a large number of people to their game, which many of the threads on this forum have already highlighted.

That's not to say that they shouldn't make good game design - obviously the game has to be worth playing, and there are certainly times when the lore has to yield to game design. However, in this case, faction identity IS NOT something that has to do with game balance or playability. Identity is entirely a function of lore.

On the last REBELS episode I watched, some "rebels" pinched a tie fighter. FFG ain't gonna go give rebels tie fighters, just because some rebels have been seen flying one are they. Also I think it's worth pointing out that regardless whether or not this small band of rebels is anything to do with the rebellion that overthrows the galactic empire, they are rebels because they are rebelling against the system.

I think that you missed my point, that I stated in the OP, of that the crew of the Ghost is kinda scummy(thieving, selling weapons, dealing with underworld business men, etc.) and even though they will be Rebels, maybe since the Rebels already have two turreted large ships, maybe the S&V could have this one. Just saying they are good guys, its aimed at a younger audience. while they do commit the odd theft, murder Some blokes just doing their job, spray graffiti and cause large amounts of criminal damage they are at the core, not villains (believe it or not) or, are not particularly scummy characters. just my opinion. please no crying.

I find killing soldiers just doing their job, stealing military grade weapons and selling them on the black market and kidnapping a minor from his home world to be pretty scummy behaviour.
