I'm excited about Scum and Villainy's upcoming release. As more details come out, I look forward to seeing what people are doing with it. As it stands now, I'm struggling to put together a lot of cohesive lists. My first 100 point build that I've thought up and actually like is basically Z-95 suicide bombers, combining Assault Missiles and Dead Man's Switch (full list is on The Tabletop General). It's no big-time tournament winner, but it'll force some fun decisions on your opponent and it's definitely a change of pace from your usual lists. I'd love to see some feedback on the idea, and suggestions are welcomed!
Suicide Bomber Z-95's
Only a precise hit will set off chain reaction and destroy the station.
I'm still not seeing the 'fun decisions for the opponent' part that people keep harking on about. As the opponent, I might lose some ships, however I know you will lose all of yours, so where am I supposed to be threatened exactly?

The hope is that there will be some shots that are passed up on because taking out a Z-95 in an awkward position will cause damage to one or more of the attacker's ships. If a lowly headhunter that has already lost its' shields finds its' way into the middle of a swarm of 4-5 TIE fighters, a player will have to choose between taking the easy kill and multiple points of damage from the resulting explosion, or taking less accurate shots at ships that are at range 2-3.
Again, it's more of a fun list than a competitive one, but as someone else commented elsewhere "Winning is fun, winning with a list like this is amazing."
Well, if you are gonna make an x-wing list, might aswell give it a name that will cause a red flag for any FBI guys surfing the net.
(or are they all still playing WoW?)
I would have thought Scum and Villainy pilots would be all about self preservation to collect their money, not blowing themselves up.

Well, there's that... but they're also about revenge.

Look at it this way... Maybe the Pirates don't know what's going on, they're just following the boss's orders as a part of making "the big score", and have no idea that their limited cargo space has been filled with bombs. Then N'Dru laughs his way to the bank, having eliminated everyone that he was supposed to split the take with.

Too bad the rules state that you can't shot your own ships

Don't have to. Chances are, the Pirates are going to take a hit or two on their way in. Probably have at least one blow up before it can get into range, realistically. But even then, that splash damage weakens the others. And then when the Assault Missiles start landing, that splash damage hits your ships too, potentially setting off chain reactions.
Still, if you could do it, the potential confused look of panic on your opponent's face when your Z-95's start Target Locking each other would be priceless!
Again, I don't expect this list to be tournament caliber, but it might be the first thing I pull out to play when I see a new player so that they can see my warm and fluffy side before I start shooting to kill with the competitive lists.
Narratively if its a group like black sun, you might be ordered to do a suicide run... defying the black sun would make living worse than death on some planets ![]()
