looks cool...except the back of the ship looks...cut off or something...I think it looks a little out of balance compared to the front.

Not a big fan of 'uglies' but this looks pretty good. I have one comment about the design and one about the ship in XWM:

1. TIE Defender is the latest, hottest POS in the Imperial fleet and is pretty rare by any standards, sooooooo...... where are these Defender wing panels coming from to make this new ride of yours? I would think that TIE Interceptor wing panels would be much easier to scrounge (and they look a lot like Defender panels). Also, I think it would look better with the wing panels at more of an angle, like maybe at 45-degrees, so they line up with the Y-wing engine exhaust vane struts. Or, maybe, angled inward, like a TIE Interceptor?

2. For use in the game, I think it would make sense to give it a secondary firing arc like the Firespray. Could be a "turret" weapon, or integral to the basic stats (2 dice, forward or aft, for example).

Just my thoughts...

Actually Chris i think you are right. Im going to leave this version as an elite fighter. The Pirate leader finds the ruins of a Defender and claims the more advanced panels for his or herself leaving everyone else to use Interceptor and regular Tie parts. So next thing i do will be the inward facing interceptor panel 'standard' version.

Someone on afewmaneuvers mentioned combining a Z-95 and a Y Wing. And since ill combine anything evidently i thought id giv it a try. Though my Z is based more on the book than the official one so it isnt the same as an FFG conversion would be. I dont know why anyone would do it but i actually like it even unfinished. It does sort of look like a Corvan version of a Y Wing though

I do indeed. I was thinking the turret that is in the old McQuarrie design with the gunner sitting inside it but this will be easier. (although i may do the manned turret versiaon as well) This strikes me as ship that could fulfill a variety of roles
