Any Details about Imperial Aces II?

By devotedknight, in X-Wing

its expected in Q5, when we actually finally will see our Q3 restock. Except, itll be delayed until Q7.8 sorry.

I am hoping for an Imperial Epic ship first. Maybe include an escorting Tie Bomber that can create some WRECK on Large and Huge Ships.

As for Aces pack I think it is Scum's and Villainy's turn for their aces pack. (Do you think they can do a Z-95 with the cool Suhlak paint job?)

So many jokes. So funny.

Now for a real answer:

I can foresee a pack containing a Tie Advanced (maybe in a blue bomber tone) and a Tie Bomber (with Gamma Squadron stripe). 2 new pilots each, along with titles and modifications.

I want to see a Huge ship, but I think the Gozanti makes more sense with 2 ties.

Gozanti + a single Tie Fighter (maybe with an 'ace' repaint - like seen here http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/90891-show-us-your-shuttle/) would be cool.

Or like seen in the title image of Star Wars Attack Squadrons:

It will contain two blue TIE Fighters (what, you thought you were getting a significant craft?), with some random aces that die all too easily, but the generics will be "traitor pilots", PS 4, armed with missile slots.

I thought imperial aces was a fix to the interceptors. if we were to see another, it would be to improve an unbalanced ship.

I would rather see the TIE droid fighter in a 2 pack, low cost throw away ship.

PS: 1

RED: 2

GREEN: 2

HULL: 2

BLUE: 0

ACTIONS: BOOST / BARREL ROLL

SPECIAL: does not count as a friendly craft when resolving other pilots abilities.

im thinking around 10 points each.

i don't think they'll ever do this. The reason the Z95 doesn't come PS1 is because the price would be 11 allowing a swarm of 9 ships. They'll never have a ship at 10 allowing 10 ships on the board.

Any Information? Is there any Bomber Aces??

Yes, it is going to come with a bunch of turret upgrades for the Y-wing, and a bunch of upgrades that make the Advanced and Bomber more expensive since they are OP in the current meta.

Sarcasm is OP.

What if they released two "most wanted" type expansions. One for Empire one for Rebel. Could be like "Rogue Squadron Expansion pack" and "501st Legion Expansion pack"? I don't know much about those two units but they are both relatively well know, or at least known for casual EU fans like myself.

Maybe some sort of generic Rogue Squadron and 501st titles that give benefits to other ships with the same title. Imperial version could include new pilots and upgrades for TIE Advanced, Defender, Bomber and maybe even new pilots for a large ship like the Shuttle. The Rebel version could have new stuff for E-wings and some other ships. Would be a way to give the Rebels more Y-wing pilots or Headhunter pilots without putting out new models of those ships (since after Wave 6 most of us will have more than enough Y-wings and Headhunters). It could include different paint schemes for other ships though.

Idk, SOMETHING like that concept may be interesting. It would also be a neat way to expand the two factions without reaching too far into the stratosphere for more EU ships. Not that I have a problem with EU ships.

It's not the weapon itself, it's how you use it.

I just got done reading this entire thread. I pretty much laughed the whole way through.

But if you think the what-if-ing was bad in this thread, check out the Armada forum. They already have someone creating threads speculating on Wave 2, before the core set is out, before the Wave 1 set is out, etc.

Was worth a special laugh. I think the poster may have been Cubanboy in a ninja outfit. :P

We all know that the USS Enterprise D will be in Armada wave 2.

I was hoping for Voyager and Kazon Nistrim.

At GenCon they came right out and said that 12 points is the cheapest they'll ever make a ship.

They were announced for wave 5. Q4 2017.

I like the idea of Imperial Aces 2, but I'd like to see more of the announced ships in stock first.

Back to the topic, the Tie Advanced needs a refresh and would be an ideal candidate. Ships with only 2 attack dice are not very viable with the current waves. A refit that allows 3 attack dice in lieu of a missile would be welcome (same goes for the A-Wing).

The Tie Bomber would be really fun with a buzz droid that you can launch onto other ships and knock out one system or hull per round until an action (dice roll) or red maneuver removes it.

I think we have enough large ships for now and would not bring in a new or a refreshed one.

I cant see an A wing add on in the immediate future.

Given that chaardan and test pilot made them better for less and proton rockets gave them added punch if you just wanted to use them as a 'big blast delivery system'

My money would be on a TIEadv and Bomber pack as others have suggested.

the only thing I dislike about this game is the attack/defense dice.

you get the same number of dice no matter if you are a scrub or an elite.

most games have the hit roll and then a damage roll.

IMO: if they were creating a game where 1 die roll encompassed both as it does, why not different color dice for different skill levels? the more elite pilots dice would have more hits and criticals, while the scrubs would have less.

seems reasonable to me, and that would really make your elite pilots feel elite.

My elite pilots feel pretty elite when they high PS snipe low PS ships, when their EPTs kick in and do awesome stuff, or when their special abilities turn an opposing fighter into a crushed tin can. It's a nice idea, the skill dice but... it adds additional complication to the balance and game.

No more aces. I want to see:

Imperial Ordinance - bomber and advanced options.

Turret upgrade for tie advanced (agressor title)

Modification: remove a missile add a cannon.

Ion mines.

Rebel workhorses: y-wing and x-wing.

With an upgrade that removes a proton torp and adds a sensor icon.

Microjump: a astromech/salvaged astromech slot card that gives a token. Spend an action to place the token. Discard the card and suffer a strain token to move the token.

That's what I said about 3 months ago. except I called the expansions "Aces of the Empire" and "Aces of the Rebellion" using ship variants. (Basically, changing out the upgrade bar with different upgrades, This has a real air force bases concept, example; the F-15 A variant or the F-15 E variant.

Oh I forgot, Stars Wars doesn't have smart and clever engineers, and can only make 1 version of a spacecraft.
