Best passenger for bwings

in the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK; was the bomber used as a transport craft delivering the star dest capt to Vader? if so, would be interesting to also have a "crew" in the tie bomber...

There is a variant used as a shuttle it had shields but lost its ordnance capacity and only had lasers.

I really wish Jan Ors crew had a different name, I just finished building an awesome (Fun) list:

Keyan + HLC + PTL + /E2 + Jan Ors 42

Biggs 25

Jan Ors + ICT + Kyle Katarn 33

Then I realized I had bot Jans :(

Back t the drawing board.

The TIE/sh was the tie shuttle. It was a 2 pod designed TIE like the bomber the only thing is that the Auxiliary Pod was a 2 seat transport pod instead of a munitions pod.

Source I read said it had room to seat four comfortably, but as always when going off a wikki I take it with a pinch of salt.

On Nera I recently realized Recon Specialist played really well into Adv. Protons. Nien Nunb has good synergy. I guess from the sounds of it I would like Kyle but haven't tried it yet. I see uses for some of the others but for now its another gray zone with me where there is no auto take yet. Which is good!:)

Gunner with Fire Control

twinned with Et'ahn 's E-wing is a devastating combination

In terms of X-Wing:

Title: Tie Shuttle

Lose all ordnance slots, gain 2 shields and 2 crew.

You cannot equip this card if your pilot skill is "4" or lower.

Would be cool for Jonus ;)

For generics, Gunner. For named possibly C-3P0. For Keyan then Jan Ors every time.

I wouldn't take Jan Ors (crew) with Keyan Farlander. Farlander allows you to treat a stress token like a focus token when attacking, Jan Ors allows a focus token to be replaced with an evade token instead.

If any of the Rebel Aces crew I would give Kyle Katan (crew) + VI. As soon as you use the stress to modify your dice you will get a focus for defending. Kyle sort of makes stress a double focus token.

with PTL you get to either TL or barrel roll then push the limit for a 'focus' ( get an evade) and you have a stress to spend as a focus basically 3 abilities.

Not quite dash but an actual focus token for Keyan is actually kinda bad

Jan is the perfect crew for Keyan, as long as you also have eithe advanced sensors or PTL.

Yup, with cards like Keyan, or Katan (crew) stress management becomes more important than ever. There are 3 pilots and 1 crew where you want to get stress but you need to get it at just the right time.

I do not like to upgrade B-wings with anything other than advanced sensors.

The intelligence agent however is a great investment for a blue, you now get even more out of your advanced action cheating (thats how I call it). 27 points bang for buck.

I see a lot of people upgrading Keyan to the max, but that just seems so, expensive. You could almost take another ship.
Then again I tried Keyan with advanced sensors (double actions after K-turn fun), veteran instincts (always move last and less bumping problems due to sensors), E2 with chewbacca (because he has a big shoot me target). He was good and fun! But looking at points spent, meh...

LOL, 'passenger.'

I just picture Kyle Katarn sitting there reading a magazine.

No offense to the OP, just thought it was funny. I may start calling crew 'passengers' now, hah.

I used tacticians on two dagger squad pilots and really enjoyed it. But I was playing an epic game with points to spare, I also like 3po on Keyan to make him more tanky.

I keep thinking Nera w/ Deadeye, Flachette x2, Munitions Failsafe, and then Tactician would be nasty.

If you got a shot on a Phantom at Range 2, you can give out 2 Stress with each shot. That thing isn't going to be Cloaking any time soon, especially when you just follow it.

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12

Super tanky Ibby (Jan turns both focus tokens from the Rec Spec into evades)

A pretty tanky Chewie and a Z- for filler.

I think Jan is good for just one evade token, even with Recon Spec. Still pretty hard-hitting/tanky though

Agreed. I do like what you got going on here, though.

Hmm...I do see your point about only one Evade. I assumed since you got 2 tokens from one action it would change both.

My interpretation of it was "Once per round" and "assigned a focus token" would make it singular.

Thinking of recon spec...I wonder if that would pair well with Deadeye...

yup, it would pair real good with dead eye and advanced proton torpedoes. Focus for 2 focus tokens. Spend ton to dead eye a ship at range 1. Adv proton torpedoes turn up to 3 blanks into focus. Spend the other focus to turn all focus into hits.

Guaranteed 3 hits. The worst you can do is 3 hits out of 5 dice.

Gunner + Opportunist (+FCS optional) on Farlander = Nasty

Especially if you're going with FCS, that's a pricey ship. If I'm running 40+ point Keyan, it would be with opportunist and HLC. Five dice at any range, and Denies their Range3 bonus. No need for Gunner if you're dropping five dice.

Then, you've saved his crew seat for Jan :-D

Why 5d always?

Heavy Laser cannon range 2-3, 4 dice Range 1, +1 at all ranges from opportunist.

Wouldn't Opportunist on Keyan be counter productive since Keyan likes stress and Opportunist requires NO stress.

Opportunist gives you stress for Farlander to spend. You declare your shot, use opportunist to add a die and receive a stress token, and then use Farlander's ability to remove that stress token and change any eyes to hits. You start and end the turn without a stress token since you get it and then immediately get rid of it.

The upcoming 'Stay on Target' isnt a bad shout for Keyan either if youre saving points. That extra movement option, with Tactician and Enhanced Sensors make him a decent Phantom hunter too (unless they out PS him) though a little pricey at 37 points. Maybe a nice even 40 if you give him an Ion Cannon to really lock them down.

A phantom will always out-PS Farlander unless Farlander takes VI, since the only relevant phantom setups are PS 8 and PS 9. This makes SOT a pretty bad choice unless you have the anti-phantom role covered elsewhere and are only planning to use Farlander against lower-PS targets.
