Any tips on builds that abuse the new passenger slot for the bwing?

Weapon Engineer, Recon Specialist, Tactician. Maybe Intelligence Agent for blocking.
I really like Chewie for tanky builds. The look on people's face when I discard a crit and regain a shield....
It's pricey I know.

The extra focus for the Specialist is not as helpful on a single dice defense B-wing. Getting another TL from the Engineer might be cool, but i don't know if it is incredibly useful.

I love to run Keyan with Push and Jan Ors next to Biggs. Give Biggs the evade until he dies, then keep it for Keyan.
Jan Ors is great. She is effectively a modification that adds the evade action to the action bar of a B-wing, but one that you can loan out as necessary during a match. Low-agility ships really love evade tokens for defense, since for anything under 3-agility, an evade token is better than a focus token for defense. (At 3 dice I am pretty sure that you statistically get more average evades from using a focus token to modify - of course if you need one guaranteed evade, the evade token is best).
Many of the unique rebel crew are also good. Dash, Solo, and Lando all work quite well in a B-wing I think.
Intel Agent is probably the best generic: cheap and has great synergy with the B-wing's brawling fighting style.

Especially if you're going with FCS, that's a pricey ship. If I'm running 40+ point Keyan, it would be with opportunist and HLC. Five dice at any range, and Denies their Range3 bonus. No need for Gunner if you're dropping five dice.

I've used 3P0 and Jan Ors. Both are great, but as mentioned above, Jan Ors is especially noteworthy because giving an X-wing that evade token can be very useful.
A FFG article on B-wings had some interesting ideas as well: giving Nera Nien Nunb really helps and giving Ten Nunb mercenary copilot works well with his pilot ability.
I'd love to make Saboteur work but it sucks that you can't use EI since the B-wing/e2 takes up the modification slot.

I think it's much better than HLC + Opportunist though:
- Gunner helps strip tokens so that Opportunist can trigger.
- FCS gives you consistent damage
- You can crit, where HLC needs an outside modifier
- Your actions are saved for movement (his action can be spent on evading if you have Jan crew elsewhere)
- It's a complete package and doesn't require outside help, other than making sure he doesn't die
HLC + Opportunist:
- Needs outside help to help ensure tokens are stripped - Wes, Higher PS ships, or blockers
- Requires actions to be spent on Target Locks to be effective
- Doesn't crit as often
- Not as maneuverable if you want accurate shots
- Does reduce the Range 3 defense benefit, which is nice
HLC + Opportunist is good, but my points are still on Gunner

The best crew upgrade for a b-wing for me is none. The biggest problem of the b-wing is it's lack of defense. C3PO may help a little with that, but sooner or later its likely to be killed, including all the invested points. Unless there is a crew that will seriously upgrade it's attack or defense, it's likely too expansive for the output and points you will loose when the ship goes down
Unless your boosting the b-wings defence I wouldn't put one in, recon specialist help on both offence and defence but gunner is only good on the attack and makes the ship a prime target.
I wouldn't bother with 3OP on a b-wing one evade a turn won't keep it alive.

Yes, the serious upgrade is called "Biggs".
I tried out a list with keyan with PtL anf kyle crew and roark with Jan crew. Keyan was target locking and gaining a focus token every round, swapping the focus for an evade then attacking at ps 12, spending his stress then gaining an additional focus token, which was also swapped fir an evade it was pretty tasty, shame I was cheating :-(

Heavy Laser cannon range 2-3, 4 dice Range 1, +1 at all ranges from opportunist.
