New Mats, showing offf

By Mauser101, in X-Wing

Unfortunately http://www.mygamemats.com is shutting down operations. I got the sad email a while back and my last minute order just arrived on Friday. I took the opportunity to pull everything out of my Battlefoam bag and snap some pics.

Here is the 6x4 mat I ordered. Who will win (not a real game)? I think the rebs are gonna clean house.

Nice mat, cant say im crazy about the red ship bases.

I have played on mousepad material and they are super slippery, even though they look great. Mousepads are designed to allow smooth movement without resistance, so I get why it doesn't really work. Are these any different? Is there any texture in the fabric to provide grip for the bases?

I had these made recently but just never got around to posting any pictures. But this is as good a time as any

My favorite one to use right now is Cloud City. When you are playing on this map it gives it a very cinematic game experience. I was a bit worried how it was going to turn out based on the proofs i got via email. They looked almost like a 16bit video game image, but the end product is great.

I do like this map as well but just a bit too much going on for me. You have to look hard too see the actual Falcon and the Tantive. The starting areas are great and I could have gotten them added on any map of my choosing. I just prefer the clean look with out the starting area.

Nice and simple. Again I could have gotten the starting area put on but clean is better.

I do have a few of the basic DS 2 with starting areas that I use for teaching new players

Love that pic from the Corvette's engine block!

@R2ShihTzu - No, they're not really different from regular mousepad material. I have a felt 4x4 mat that was airbrushed and it "snags" the bases much better.

For me it's not much of a problem as all my red bases have a washer glued to them after which I spray them with Plasti Dip.

@Gadge - As you can see from the above pic when the base card token is attached it really just highlights the edges. Very useful for games where my opponent has a similar list.

...and I really just like red. :-)

Fair play, i prefer them clear as i use my bases for rebels and imperials and due to dog related accidents have more ships than bases at the mo :)

I just got a pair of 3x3 mats from MyGameMats.com, great quality. It was actually a single 3x6 that he cut in half, so I can use it for either epic play or two separate games. The length is within 1/16th of an inch of 36", which is great. I have heard of other mats "shrinking" up to a full half an inch.
