Wave 5: YT-2400, buy one or two?

By Plainsman, in X-Wing

My son is anxiously awaiting wave 5 and more specifically, the YT-2400! Which brings up the question, do I buy one or two right away?

We ended up buying two Falcons, so will Rebel builds see two 2400's as well? Should I just plan on ordering two when I get the Decimator?

Thanks for any/all feedback!

Personal I am getting one YT-2400 and two VT-49 Decimators. while i think that in 100 point games only one decimator is going to be viable i want the two for epic play. The outrider to me is like the falcon its Iconic and there should only be one on the board at a time. Flavor is what it came down to. Now I have seen a lot of good arguments for running two YT-2400 and im sure someone will give them to you.

I'm getting two, I think the space fringer will be fun and I want extras of some of the cards since im frequently called upon to supply both players.

I have not bought multiples of any large-base ship. Also, as a primarily Imp player, who didn't grow up with Shadows, I'm not particularly drawn to the YT-2400.

So, I doubt that I'll even get one.

Well you'll need a spare for when the first gets thrown against a wall in frustration.

Do you play with the kind of person who destroys your stuff over a game? If so, the solution isn't to keep replacing your stuff but rather to find different friends.

There have been instances of magic cards flying across the kitchen but they were not mine.

I'm gonna buy two, paint one up with a Knight Rider theme and have my own Michael Knight/KITT pilot cards to go along with it.

Also, if you want to own multiple copies of Stay On Target for tournament play, you'll need to buy another.

My criteria is usually: 1, how many can I realistically anticipate using in a 100-pt list, and 2, are there any essential upgrade cards that would require the purchase of more than one? I will get 2, and certainly no more than that.

Two, because I am frequently called upon to supply two players.

Hobojebus, great to see your first post in a thread as being something supportive of the community rather than just as your opportunity to maliciously take out your life frustrations on others!

Probably only one - what are the upgrades it comes with? I'm not sucked in for the ship itself, but maybe the upgrades. Although they'll probably be included in one or two Scum packs too, so almost certainly one.

This is what comes in the set:

only reasons for getting more than 1 set:

Multiple "stay on target" upgrade required

need more gunner

need more HLC

lastly if Eaden Vrill actually becomes viable in a 2 ship list with Dash (though dash would need a reliable stress inducing effect for it to be viable)

not a lot of reasons but there are some.

Three reasons why you should get two:

Stay on Target

Gunner

HLC

TWO AND TRADE ME THE CARDS!!!!

I can even see THREE outriders becoming a viable list. Just staying nimble and rolling to dish out some range 1 damage, a spattering of upgrades and Eaden to increase power. Lots of health to shoot through, and harder to hit than the 3xFirespray that is seems to be similar to, list wise.

That said, i'm just buying 1.

I'll aim to buy two if the funds allow it, one copy if not. I aim to get at least two of every ship so that I have cards and ships enough for builds. After that, the long term goal will be to have at least three of every ship.

I have 1 + 1 and have 2 + 2 on order. Plan on giving away 1 of each.

Definitely one for me then. I've got plenty HLCs and Gunners, and I can't see myself using more than one Stay or Target any time soon.

I'll be buying two, though it is the first ship I doubt I'll ever field two of. Maybe if I ever play 150. Mostly I just want 2 Stay on Targets. I actually want more, but not enough to go deeper on the ship.

I'll eventually get two. Maybe three... 42 tops.

hehehehehehehhe haha hehehehehhe

One for me. Generally, this is how I buy them:

* One if it is a high point cost ship (Outrider) or I don't really care about the ship and am only really getting it for collection (HWK)

*Two to Five if it is a lower point cost ship (Z-95, TIE, etc.)

Only one for me too. I just don't see myself using more than one per build. I also have only one Falcon. A Falcon + Outrider build will be cool though...

getting 3 YTs and two decimators... I am still adhering to my policy of getting what ever amount adds to 100 points and then generally rounding up... The only problem i have is when my wife and i go to Barnes & Nobel she usually gets me something not that i am complaining,,lol

But... two of those cards are available elsewhere.

Now, if you'd said

Stay on Target

Countermeasures

Experimental Interface

well, that would be a different matter!
