I love HLC but it's tricky on a large base ship. If you're not use to flying one, you'll find yourself at range 1 often, or using the rear arc. Another thing is that even once you've gotten the hang of it, you may find yourself not using the rear arc as much, and the ability to fire from either arc allows for more unpredictable maneuvering.

If you are using your rear arc more than the front, than that is pilot error, not the ships.

How is using your ship's full potential a pilot error? The rear arc isn't there solely to mop up screw ups, you should be using it as a benefit. Why K-turn for example when you can go stressless forward and still get your shot?

I'd say ignore Fett. He's expensive and his ability doesn't justify the cost.

Three Firesprays is a good build.

Any thoughts on the shuttle build?

Seems like that shuttle will usually be in the wrong position without Engine Upgrade, and Rebel captive and FCS is wasted on it.

I was thinking

Bounty Hunter

2 Academys

Howlrunner + Determination

Omicron shuttle + Vader

Have the Bounty Hunter try to fly with the mini swarm.

I dont like vader always ses to do more damage long term then its worth

Completely disagree. That's like saying if you use the Falcon's 360-degree arc more than the front, then it's a pilot error. The Firespray's rear arc is its best feature. It keeps you out of arcs while keeping arc-dodgers in your sights.

If you're saying that using rear arc more than front for HLC Firesprays is pilot error - then yes, I agree.

Not true. I've had great success with the rear arc, peeling away on an angle from ships and blasting them for two turns while they try to k turn and then turn to put the Fire spray in their arcs again.

Works great. A guy best the crap out of me on vassal a few times in a row by effectively doing this and I thereby realized this is s great way if flying the fires pray - it's not a jouster, not the best tank because it's so easy to hit - but as the name implies, it is a good strafing ship. Especially when paired with a flanker. The opponent has to make broad turns to maintain a line of fire on the firespray as you strafe at angles, which makes for juicy targets for your flanking Fel or Echo.

This is what i think im set on this weekend

FIRESPRAY-31: · KRASSIS TRELIX

Heavy Laser Cannon

· Rebel Captive

TIE FIGHTER: · HOWLRUNNER

I flew a similar list at a tournament the other week. So fun!

Consider buzzsaw with Tactician rather than Rebel Captive.

In my case I took Kath and 2 shuttles. You can fit Doom shuttle instead of 2 Academy Pilots, should you wish.

Given that there are multiple groups of asteroids, enemy ships, your own ships, combined with the large base size on the Firespray (+ its dial), I'd like to know how you would go about using the front arc of a HLC carrying Firespray as efficiently as you allude to.

Unless you are blocking the Firespray with your own ships (bad), the large base size ensures that you will get an average of, what; 4 HLC shots per game?

Exactly. You can try to keep people in your front arc, but doing so will often force you to spend turns unable to shoot at all. Doesn't really seem worth it to me.

I don't understand why you have Deadeye on Kath given that she has nothing to use it with.

True, and for those points you'd be better off with Lonewolf / dropping APL, taking marksmanship (for Kath's ability) or even Predator.

That was a typo heres what im looking at for sun

Kath outmanuver rebel captive engin

Howelrunner

Mauler Mithel

Backstaber

Im debating between outmanuver/ marksman

Outmaneuver no doubt.

Any other thoughts?
