Rebel Swarm for the win?

So my local meta pretty much mirrors the current paper, scissors, rock model that exists. I was curious if a rebel swarm could be competitive, ideas?

You fall pretty hard against PS3 ships, as to you they may as well be PS9.
On the other hand, the reverse is also true, giving you the points spent on pilot upgrades in your favor.

Unlike the Imperial swarm, you're running 3 flankers, and 3 oddballs. Not a lot of internal synergy, but you also dodge a lot of counterbuild.
Who needs formations?

Any list can win, but can it win consistently? You have a lot of ships but only 2 real consistent offensive threats in the X and B-wings. Those would be my first targets, then probably the Z95 after that. The A-wings will be harder to knock off with 3 agility dice, but wont have much offensive punch either. Without play testing it I don't know for sure, but I would expect you will have a lot of close games and many of those you win could be modified wins. I've played BXXZZZ in a rebel swarm before. It did well some games and poorly in others. It was fun to play in a casual environment, but the performance was not consistent enough for me to want to play it competitively.

Swarm v swarm could be an issue. I just felt that if more builds are going to 2 and 3 ships, why not go the other way and hit them with a wall of dice.

Good point spike it
