OT: I think my wife wins ...

By Conandoodle, in X-Wing

We were playing a friendly game of X-Wing the other day. Out of the blue, she smiles, looks at me and says "How many Star Wars books have you read?"

I replied "I used to read them all when I was younger. Why? Have you read any?"

She pauses .. then says "Yeah, Red 5!"

Now I know why I married her.

Nice.

I tought you'ld say she threatened to rip your arm off if you didn't let her win. :)

But re(a)d five is awesome!

Im lucky enough that mine loves star wars but am yet to talk her into playing X-wing sadly.

Every time I mention a boardgame she always pulls out civilization

Could be worse, she could pull out monopoly...

the sooner you learn: SHE ALWAYS WINS...

the better off you'll be.

Your wife loves playing Civilization. There is no downside here, man.

Oops I never meant to sound like I didn't enjoy playing civilization, **** good game like most of FFG's games.

We used to play the original of civilisation, came out in the 80s IIRC

Have FFG won the rights to it and remade it or is it a board game verison of the pc game?

Boardgame based of the video game civilization IV that in turn is based off that old 80's boardgame.

I never played it (was to busy with the original axis & allies) but Sid Mire (fail spelling!) did and loved it so it inspired the video game series

I'd be in trouble if mine ever found a Harry Potter board game.

I thought you were gonna say she threatened to shoot you if you didn't win. Re(a)d 5 is better lol.

Pro tip, never find said potter game :-P

Im kinda shocked they haven't made a hogwarts risk yet. Or a potter monopoly.

Monopoly is my cut off point, my female shall never force me to play that ever again

My woman is a Star Wars geek too. Same with our 3 kids. There is seriously ridiculous amounts of Star Wars sh*t laying around our house. The first thing most people say after coming in our house... "Wow, you guys REALLY like Star Wars, huh?"

Its pretty awesome.

Can you feel the Star Wars in this thread?

Thicker than clam chowder.

How about "The doom that came to Atlantic city?" It's monopoly with cultists and great old ones!

Cthulhu mythos stuff makes everything better.
