Triple B

By Zoccola, in X-Wing

So with the release of Rebel Aces, I now have my new elite Rebel Force of 3 Bs. Not sure what to call it.

Three's Company

Blood Bath and Beyond (cause its trip Bs)

Anyway here is the list:

Keyan + PtL + B-Wing/E2 + Intelligence Agent

Ibtisam + PtL + B-Wing/E2 + Han Solo

Nera + Deadeye + Flechette + Flechette + Munitions Failsafe

I'm going to test it out this weekend.

I feel like han would be more useful if the ship he was on was passed free target locks/actions

Looks like fun. Until the Chardaan refitted A-wings start buzzing around. :)

Well you would PtL a barrel roll and Target Lock. Then use the Ibtisam reroll to get a hit or focus on blanks, and then use the TL with Han accordingly.

Alternately, if you dont need to Barrel Roll, you can focus and TL as above, saving the focus for defence.

Herm... A few suggestions - IA isn't really worth 2 points in my opinion, nor is Han for 3 on Ibby. Pulling those 2 nets you 5 points to play with. I'd swap out PTL for AdvS on Keyan honestly. A PTL Keyan just begs to be action denied, so not only does he not get his TL, but he doesn't get his stress to use as a focus. By switching to AdvS, you always get your action, regardless of what all is going on, and then you can use the lovely red dial to get the stress for the offensive focus. He should fly much differently that way than a normal B and should throw people off guard (what?? A 3 Bank? That's on the B wing dial?!?!?... Hard 1 turns again and again? 2K whenever you want!?)

Now, with the 5 remaining points, I would consider adding E2 + Recon Spec to Nera, which costs 4, drop MF, and then change a Flechette to a Proton. Now you can shoot a PT in a 360 arc, using a focus to fire it, and a focus to modify it. There's little reason then to have the MF if you always have a focus to modify.

Given, these are just suggestions based on my personal thoughts on what would be cool, I haven't tried flying a BBB list since Rebel Aces.

Khyros, consider that Keyan build  ninja'd. Those red maneuvers always made me double take moving my B's, but using them to get a focus in the combat phase as well? epic. As far as trip B's OP, I wish I had 3...but sadly I just have my 2 reb aces B's. I like the idea, but other than keyan, it flies kinda like a brick. Loads of HP, but not a lot of flexibility.

My 2 cents.

Keyan + PtL + B-Wing/E2 + Intelligence Agent

Ibtisam + PtL + B-Wing/E2 + Han Solo

Tried to make sure that I followed all of the suggestions: http://xwing-builder.co.uk/view/133370/trip-b

That look like what you'd take? I'm intrigued.

I think Intel Agent for two points is a waste on Keyan. I would run him with Adv. Sensors.

I would also drop Han Solo on Ibitsam. You got PTL, so you can TL + Focus for most of your attacks. Maybe throw Opportunist on Ibitsam and VI on Nera?

Keyan + PTL + Adv. Sensors

Ibitsam + Opportunist

Nera + VI + Fletchette X2+ MF = 99 points.

I like PTL on Keyan because it gives him options and Adv. Sensors gives him more. B/R + TL then get your focus. Both will shoot before Ibitsam hopefully clearing out tokens so opportunist can kick in and she gets her stress.

Nera will just fly around stressing things. I like it!

I actually think the Ibby/Han combo is really good. It gives you the flexibility to always barrel roll and still still get max hits while shooting. Ibby/opportunist/Han/AS could be an interesting option, but also 39 points.

But I think the real problem with the list is the lack of advanced sensors on the B's. Without advanced sensors B's are quite restrictive, with it they are really maneuverable. When you have only 3 B's you need to up close and personal, in a long range fight you will get focused fired quickly.

Yup, that looks right. Sorry I didn't say it in a more easy to follow method. I was editing the original list in my head step by step as I wrote out the changes, thus why it's so scattered.

Hmmm. This looks like a really great list. I'd love to face it with this, see how they work out:

Darth Vader + Outmaneuver + Engine Upgrade + Proton Rockets

Colonel Vessery + Outmaneuver + Ion Cannon

Scimitar Bomber + Seismic Charge + Flechette Torpedo

What about Keyan + Adv. Sensors and Stay on Target? You can essentially go where ever you want at speed 1 and especially 2 and get the stress to use for his pilot ability. And moving at 7, you will likely be able to adjust to have someone in your sights each turn. I don't think I would want to be up close and personal vs. that kind of B-wing.

I actually like the idea more as I think about it. I feel like I'm missing something important with it though.

Yeah, I had that thought, but SoT isn't available until W5.
