I believe I have won only 1 game out of 7 with my x3 Defenders with Ion Cannons List and ironically enough that was when I didn't fire the Ion Cannons even once the entire game! On the flip side, that was when the ship was first previewed so perhaps I should revisit it and give it another try.

I am surprised that anyone was able to consistently ionize X-Wings as the rebels can move 1 forward while the T/D has only a 2 forward, you shouldn't you overshoot sooner or later?

That's why you need to come from multiple directions, you don't have to always ionize with same ship. But also keep in mind that the Delta is PS1, so you can bump it, he moves away, you shoot it in the back. Especially useful against B-Wing with their 1 agility, you don't mind as much your lack of action by bumping.

I like the concept of the list a lot but I feel like while it can beat 3-4 ship rebels, it will really struggle against swarms and phantoms.

Every shot is ion shot. So no… no it doesn't do poorly against Phantoms.

I noticed the problem rose when facing large ships that require two ions to have effect. Could have been bad dice luck but can't remember exactly. Need to try this again a few times some day

I've found in those situations, the best bet is to simply tag the larger ships with one, then wait until the most opportune moment strikes to land the second. It makes them fly more carefully too, lest they be pointing in the direction of mean rocks.

That was quit fun! You can ionize your enemies and you'll have a deadly predator, who can boost right into action and destroy your opponent ships with CC-Bursts.

A high agility PS 9 ship with Ionizers is a lot of fun - and quit competative.

Yeah, I used to run Soontir Fel a ton. I got kinda sick of him, felt too reliant. It's nice to have that third Ion Cannon in there too, though I have to agree that especially for someone like me that low PS felt very limiting. I tend to run smaller, higher PS Imperial builds.

I like fel but my green dice don't last time I used him he was shot at by a cr90 I had six green dice due to the range all turned up blank and that one evade token didn't keep him alive.

When he works he works brilliantly when he doesn't he flames out quick.

Used this list tonight for a laugh faced wedge a b-wing and a pair of z95`s started off a bit rough as he focused my first defender and over two turns he got it down to one hull so I sent him away from the fight to draw off a fighter, after the initial pass I k turned and so did wedge I lost a shield wedge lost his shields and a hull, 2nd defender used the ion Canon on wedge next turn he slams into my defender with no actions I take him out easy and it swung back my way.

Didn't use the ion cannons alot but they did come in handy it's a bit risky as a list I wouldn't use it in a tournament but it did alright didn't lose any ships but took out three of four ships he might of taken that last hull if we'd carried on but his last z-95 was dead for sure against the other two defenders.

The base attack of the missile is 2 so plus the 3 agility you get 5 which is the max.
