The tankiest Imperial ship

By Biophysical, in X-Wing

Thanks for clearing the matter up. I hope it ends up being true though!

If true, it could breath some more life back in Stealth Device.

Soontir Fel + PtL + Stealth Device + Autothrusters

5 dice vs turrets that you are out of arc for, with focus + evade, at 35 points.

Technically, you'll probably have to add Royal Guard to that. It is pretty certain to be a modification.

Yes, sorry, that was implied.

If this is the case, Stealth Device may still be the priority choice for other flankers like A-wings, EXCEPT on Interceptors, who can take both.

Strictly speaking I believe you are correct, but more generally, you want to minimize dumping points into a 15 point ship. A-wings with 2 attack dice are already tanks, not glass cannons, so it is far less useful to spend extra points on them for defense. Dumping points into Interceptors (18 points base) can work on a couple of aces because their abilities are so good, and you are mitigating their fragility. Even so, the most common loadout is simply Fel + PtL for 30 points.

Frankly, I'm puzzled as to why I felt the need to post it. I was possessed by an evil spirit.

That is a perfectly acceptable quality for a squint pilot!

"Your generic TIE grunt is just plain suicidal. And the TIE Defender jockey is bloodthirsty. But the TIE Interceptor pilot, he's suicidal and bloodthirsty. When you see a squad of those maniacs flying your way, you'd better hope your hyperdrive is operational."

I agree completely. When RGT Title was first revealed, I was skeptical and still am to a degree, because I don't like to overcost ships, particularly fragile ones. For instance, I can have three Interceptor Aces with 2 mods each, or I can four RGPs. (Extreme example, as at this point in the game I'd rarely play more than 1-2 Ints at a time anyway for safety reasons. But in general, more ships is better than more upgrades.) I have, however, already had considerable success with Jake Farrell, so keeping him alive is certainly a priority. Gemmer Sojan is designed for survivability whilst also playing aggressively. So, it may not be a problem to spend another 3 points on making him last a little longer, too. I resubmit my previous question, though, is it better than Stealth Device or even Hull Upgrade?

In short, can't wait to see the text.

Kath gets her lone Wolf always when she's paired with two shuttles, lol

The tankiest Imp ship is Soontir. By far.

Especially if the auto thruster rumour turn out to be accurate.

Yup. I f it's true, I would play Soontir with PTL, Shield, and Autothrusters as I laugh at Phantoms.

Didn't Han say that in the Thrawn books?

Firespray for sure. Pretty much no matter the load out but the PTL + Isard + hull +who knows what Fet will be nasty.

For Autothrusters I'm betting it's more of a PTL "light" for ships with boost and BR. They automatically thrust when you do x. It could be you get a free action when you BR or Boost or get the free boost or BR when you take action. The way the devs phrased things I think it's a useful upgrade vs. turrets but not a turret specific mod. I like this idea much better than just a reroll out of arc or extra dice out of arc. It would have the nice side effect of making the EPT less interceptors a little better, make Turr REALLY squirelly, and enhance soontir.
