What new ships would you like to see and play with X-wing?

By BobaFett THX1138, in X-Wing

Mainly: Skipray Blastboat (scum)

Also wouldn't mind seeing:

Preybird (scum)

Cloakshape (scum)

Chiss Clawcraft (Imperials)

K-Wing

Scimitar bomber

XG-1

I really hope they do the Mist Hunter, Punishing One, and maybe the Hound's Tooth before they do other Scum ships. I really want all the Bounty Hunter ships.

1. Wraiths could not cloak. the Cloak X-wing (called the StealthX) was invented by the Jedi and put into service immediately after the Vong war.

2. I would like to see StealthXs, and Besu'liiks.

I don't want to see anything from Rebels.

Remember, Ep VII is only 15 months away .. and FFG already has a monster range of models and related games set for release. I would much prefer to see them continue to create a great, well balanced game, fix known issues (Eg. Tie Advanced, Imp large ship) and fully develop exciting related materials than fill our tables with a salad of obscure EU rubbish.

What would I like to see? Scenario packs with new missions and terrain features, an imp large ship and well thought out fixes for known problems.

EU isn't rubbish....

The last thing we want is more rebel ships with 360 turrets.

What about a 3-5 turret? Wouldnt that make it interesting? A ship that at close range only has missiles but at far range works like a sniper.

Agreed. I'm nearly out of shelf space and have a ridiculously massive fleet. I won't buy many more new ships, so I hope FFG comes up with some additional products like pilot packs.

more pilot cards, and a official mission book, we have no need for more ships.

I'd REALLY like to see a T16 on the table, but not likely.

While I haven't come close to my ship-buying limit yet, I would also like to see relatively inexpensive pilot/upgrade packs.

Snowspeeder with 360 tow cable. Forces some kind of movement to the attached ship, somehow? Does not work on large ships?

Outside of a ground-assault expansion/new game, I don't think we'll be seeing snow speeders, since their propulsion system only works on planets/ in atmosphere. They're more like aircraft than anything else.

Unless FFG throws that bit of fluff to the wind, we won't be seeing snow speeders in X-wing.

Tow cables might be interesting, although the EU equivalent - miniature tractor beams installed on fighters, seems more likely.

TIE Aggressor - A small base, rear arc ship with a crew slot would be an interesting addition.

TIE Electronic Warfare - A buff/de-buff support ship would open up some new tactics.

Dengar's Punishing One - (Jumpmaster 5000) S&V large base ship with a 360 primary, Salvaged Astromech, and Cannon slot

Zuckuss & 4LOM's Mist Hunter - (G-1a Starfighter) I'm not sure what role it fills, I just like it's pilots.

Bossk's Hound's Tooth - (VY-666) S&V epic ship, sized between the GR-75 and Falcon.

Chiss clawcraft.

More manueverable than an intercepter, more firepower than a defender

Clawcraft is pretty much the only thing left on my wishlist

Who cares what you don't want? FFG?

Why should they. All that matters to them is "do enough people want it?".

And in the case of the Ghost and Gozanti the answer is an overwhelming YES.

No salad of rubbish, just the important ships from a currently running, *fully canon* star wars property.

Rebels is happening.

I basically want to play the PC games from TIE Fighter up to X-Wing Alliance on a table. So there are many, many things I want, but I know it's unrealistic to even think of that.

Snubfighters: Mel mentioned the R41 and T-wings, which along with the Toscan are generally subpar but common dogfighters and would be either omitted entirely or provide a stream of S&V release waves. Other than that; Assault Gunboat, Scimitar bomber, Missile Boat, H-Wing, K-Wing, Miy'til fighter.

Large Ships: Escort shuttle, Skipray Blastboat, WR-542 Shooting Star, Barloz freighter, Lady Luck, YT-3000.

Huge Ships: Imperial Customs corvette, System patrol craft, XIytiar transport, Action VI, Marauder corvette, DP20 gunship...

I agree with Bakura83, I would like to see the YT-2000 be available. I would like to play a campaign that focuses on the Azemeen family.

I also would like to see the XG-1 Assault gunboat be available.

I'd like to see the ARC-170... would love to see one flying with Y-Wings and Z-95 headhunters

Tie Avenger, Chiss Clawcraft, K-Wing, SoroSuub Preybird, Scimitar Assault Bomber, and Skipray Blastboat. Funny, most of these are Imperials, even though I don't usually fly those (I'm hoping the Decimator changes this).

I'm actually wondering if they're going to make a Tie Advanced Title or Modification that turns a regular Advanced into an Avenger with one more attack die.

There are lots of ships that wouldnt really add much to the game. R-41, Planetary Fighters, T-Wings... are overall too similar to the Z-95 or the M3-A and S&V already has those. Same goes for the Otana for the rebels. The only way I could see it was if the Otana was made for S&V.

THIS. X-wing vs. TIE Fighter PC games to the max. Even though they wouldn't have their own distinct roles, I'd love to see:

S&V

T-wing

R-41

Both these guys were stock pirate ships. T-wings were like a poor man's A-wing, faster and lightly armed. R-41s were more robust and comparable to the Y-wing. Neither was much more than kill-meat but just seeing them on the table would really bring back some flavor nostalgia.

Rebels

Repaints

I'm a Rebel player but, frankly, I'm done. We don't need anymore. Everything past what we have either belabors the Letter-wing theme and/or just departs from the Star Wars-look. The K-wing? It not only looks peculiar but would be the death of the Y-wing. There would be no need for it anymore, well, even less. Rebels are good and if all they ever released anymore were repaints like Aces, I'd be thrilled.

Imperials

Assault Gunboat

TIE Advanced fix

TIE Avenger

While it is a departure from the TIE series, the Gunboat was a key unit in XvT and brings a host of options to the table. Ion cannon, beam weapon, secondaries, and great hull. As for the TIE Avenger, also a key unit, but I'm not sure how to represent it without breaking the game? Super fast, highly agile, 4 lasers, and secondaries -- occasional beam weaponry as well. I personally think the TIE Defender was better, not only did it have all that but it also had the ion cannons built in. So how do you make the Avenger without nerfing it?

Missile Boat*

A special note on the Missile Boat. It's meant to fire countless missiles as a way of beating down multiple brights -- Defenders and Avengers especially. So it needs to fire secondaries as easy as blinking. But that means either empowering all secondaries across the game to the point that they're all OP or give the Missile Boat some special ability making secondaries reasonable -- which in turn makes it OP. So I'm not sure how it would be possible.

You know what. I'd be happy if they just fixed the ships that need help and made the Vigil and the Gozanti.

Seriously Complete what you started. Don't be a ****.

I want more ship models and, frankly, I don't particularly care if they have the exact same stats as the ships I already have. Why? I love variety on the table. It's one of the reasons I repainted some of my ships, and it would be really cool to have a ragtag bunch of vessels on the table to spice things up.

I don't want to see anything from Rebels.

Oh my now we have 2 people who think EU is rubbish, they really should read more. Or play more, how many people here hate any of the SW games they've played? Those are EU to.

Wow guys, EU isn't rubbish. This isn't cool.

You're forgetting, one ship for the Rebels. The StealthX. Sure it's like 30 years out of the timeline, but a man can dream. Oh and you're forgetting Chiss Clawcraft in S&V. :)

Stealth x would have weaker weapons in exchange for an extra agility, their power would have to come from the pilots and as only Jedi used em that means no cheap generics.

Not so much as new ships, more like new spin.

Another Rebel Aces pack with Rogue X-Wing paint and cards (Wraith Cards ought to be available) and a Y-Wing with the Bomb modification and Scout (read: Crew upgrade) modification;

There's still s couple of Black Squadron Pilots that need to be listed (these guys were the original Rogue squadron - they deserve some respect);

Scum and Villainy to include some Mandalorians and/or mercenary cards - I'm still hoping the these guys can be allied with both Rebs and Imps;

All this leads to new missions and ideas for play - some rules and markers for fixed turrets and turbo lasers - to simulate dogfights OVER a Star Destroyer;

I can forgo new ships to add some depth to our most favourite game.
