Shortest game I've ever played

By tiefanatic, in X-Wing

I just got defeated in three turns. THREE! I used my classic Jonus Beothers (Jonus had predator though) and he used:

Whisper w/ACD, VI
Echo w/ ACD, VI
Sigma w/ Stygian

Has anyone else been beaten this fast?

Edit: And I didn't do a single damage to any of the phantoms. (This is the real tiefanatic, not that imposter KeithWard.)

Stygian wasn't any use, though (I was his opponent). I may add Tactician to the Sigma instead. Controlling movement is good when you're flying Phantoms.

Guess I shouldn't have replied on the same computer. Forgot to sign out, so it looks like I'm replying to myself!

This is a very multiple personality conversation.

Some days, the dice don't work.

OT: There is the Edit-button...

I never really count turns but I won a game in ten minutes once (4 X-Wings vs 4 TIE Interceptors - Interceptors won)

They have pills for that.

I've had a similar game I was trying rebels against my mate he had three ties and two interceptors tur and terran I think verses my five ships all generic two x-wing two z95`s and a b-wing.

He boosts both interceptors into range three and fires taking a few shields off the B his ties move five but only one can fire and misses, I return fire with the x-wing first three attacks verses five green because of SD he gets no evades I inflict two hits, z95 opens up and kills him, next x-wing attacks the other interceptor he fluffs with five dice again I deal two damage, the 2nd z-95 attacks the one tie in range one hit one crit no dodges and crits a direct hit, b-wing is last to fire opens up on the interceptor hits three times kills it.

In the first round of combat I killed 3/5 of his ships and lost three shields off my b-wing, we called it there.

This happened to me the other day. Two non named phantoms and a chain saw shuttle decided to roll all hits and my xwings decided to roll few evades. I believe it took till turn 4 though to kill all 4 of my ships as we were not in range for turn 1. I flew Biggs, rook, rook, cracken.

Not sure I ever got beaten so fast...

Maybe not uterly destroyed, but there was this time I killed so many of your units fast that you gave me the victory without finishing the game.

Oh yeah right, now I remember...

still fast though...

Red Castle, you win the interwebz today.

I played my favorite build, Bounty Hunter with Soontir Fel and Carnor Jax, a fat Han killed Carnor first turn before he could even shoot, oh and that was with Stealth Device! ...I still one though against a Yt-1300 and a Yt-2400 :D

Edit: I should say my thought here was that I figured the game was over at this point...

I've been on both sides of quick games. I don't think it was ever the case of having EVERYTHING destroyed, just that so much more was destroyed on one side than the other so quickly that myself or my opponent opted to just resign right away.

Not this fast, but considering how the dice work in this game, it's very believable.

I thought i had today game in the bag early.

Three black squadron TIEs (admittedly starting on two hull points each cos of the scenario) went down to Z95s an a HWK in one turn.

I eventually lost the game because siany got her objective of crippling a section of the CR90 but all my other ships had a grand total on one shield down.

Good play on her part - concentrate on the objective.

Its why i prefer scenarios to 'lets play til only one ship is left flying'

It's ok to talk to yourself. The problem is when you start answering yourself. LOL.

That's nothing, I had my B-wing and my Hawk cleared by 4 Ties at turn 2. (It was only 75 points escalation at the time.)

Round 3 is my personal record as well.

Rexler, Howlie, 3 Blacks.

It happened in the initial / First exchange. Only rexler and a wounded Black left, against a full list. :)

I was showing friend how to play. We set up a couple of ships each on the dining room table (which is just a bit too small). He took a B-Wing and an X-Wing, and I took two squints. We moved on for turn one - still just out of range. Turn two I pushed forward, he came forward, both in range of each other. I opened the shooting and rolled nothing but blanks and he one-shot both squints. Game over in turn two after about three minutes. Talk about Beginner's Luck!

I once screwed up so badly that I bowed myself out on turn two....

TIE-D

Tie Phantom

Royal guard interceptor

Vs

3X1E

It was an embarrassing day for the Empire.. Vader executed me for my failings, twice.

This just in: 3 Phantoms are very nasty. Lots of firepower for three ships. Can even Alpha Strike, if your opponent splits up a lot to try and catch Echo and/or Whisper. (And I'm happy to report that I've got those voices out of my head now...)

I had something like that happen with a ABAB list vs a 4x interceptor list.

Made the mistake of splitting up my forces with B's and A's each in a group. The other guy focus fired on the A's and took them out in the 2nd round. By the 4th round the B's were dead. Was much pain and mocking that night I can tell you.

I was messing around with stuff, testing for my house rules. I was testing X-wings at 20 points so it was 5 X-wings vs a 7 TIE Swarm.

The first engagement, round 2 of gameplay, was at range 3. Howlrunner and 2 Obsidians fire, but the X-wings kept rolling 2 evades, so they took no damage.

Then 2 X-wings killed an Obsidian Squadron. OK, whatever, it happens.

Then an X-wing one-shotted an academy TIE at range 3. Rolled 3 natural hits vs 4 defense dice with focus, rolled all blanks. Less than a 1% chance. OK, whatever, it happens.

Then another X-wing one-shotted another Academy TIE at range 3. Rolled an eyeball, hit, and a crit. Spent focus to hit-hit-crit. TIE had focus on defense but only rolled one evade, cancelling one hit. Crit was flipped: Direct hit.

At that point it was 4 TIEs vs 5 undamaged X-wings so I just reset the board and tried again, since it was such an absurdly strong statistical outlier.
