Now usually I am the first to jump on the Phantom with ACD is OP bandwagon but I wanted to bring up a thought no one seems to hit on. Countering of local metas. If Nationals showed us anything, it is that Phantoms and Falcons are the two top squads right now and if you are going to worlds, these are the squads, you are going to have to deal with. Our local meta was hit by Phantoms hard. We developed Convoy and Rebel swarm, so a super high maneuverability ship with 4 defense dice really hit that meta and made it unviable. When we bring up the concerns for the Phantom, numerous people have pointed out that the Falcon is a much bigger concern. Well as our meta crushes falcons into dust, they never seemed much of a problem. From the sounds of it, a lot of other meta’s were already running High PS fairly maneuverable ships so, the phantom would not be that big of a problem. Whereas with that kind of meta, a super defensive Falcon could wreak havoc. I guess my thought is this, of the two ships, is the one you find most abusive and OP the one that had a direct counter to your meta pre wave 4?

I think Falcons wouldnt be much of an issue if there was no Phantom.

There are plenty of lists who can beat a Fat Han, but not many lists that can compete with both Phantom and Falcon lists. And thats what you have to beat in the current meta.
