@Vorpal Sword. We weren't asking you to identify the pieces, we already established that. We asked about the whole thing. Put it to a yes/no response only to the question "Do you like the two trilogies that constitute Lucas's foundation of Star Wars". You like half of them, now I guess it comes down to a glass half full or half empty. Which one is it? And you've already admitted the half you like is flawed, which I commend you for, with honor and respect. Thank you for being real about them. But all that on the table, your answer is still yes I like the whole thing? Or no. But as an extraneous aside, you did like where it was going.
I think what Vorpal was saying, and what many of us feel, is that yes - we like the star wars universe... BUT, we often do so in spite of parts of the prequels, portions of the EU, and parts of the original movies. It's a false choice to make someone decide whether they like or don't like every part of something so massive as this universe. We don't have to like every part of this thing in order to count ourselves as fans. Just because you can phrase the question to make it seem like a binary choice - (yes or no), doesn't mean that there isn't a gradient to how much people like star wars, or what parts they like.
TLDR: making someone choose between whether they like every component of a complex, vast story, or don't like any part of it, is a badly constructed question, and patently unfair.
The reality is that there is a clear distinction between the two trilogies. Asking someone to take them or leave them, treating them as one indivisible unit is not reasonable.
