So...I assumed he was next to his bloodstripe Interceptor, but the solar panel looks wrong. Is this an early years Soontir next to a plain Ol' TIE?

Hard to tell but it looks like that's not the complete picture...not wide enough. It looks to me as if the "photographer" is next to the left wing and shot the picture through the gap between the solar panels. The bit of the right wing in the shot looks correct to me.

To my eyes, the size of the wing clearly suggests a TIE/IN as opposed to a TIE/LN.

To me, there's nothing to suggest that this isn't a bloodstriped 181st TIE/IN. The bloodstripes are on the outside of wing, and the bit that's visible on the card's the inside.

Plus, he's wearing a striped 181st flight suit, so chances are the fighter is striped as well.

Ah...the no support strut is a give away now that I see the two side by side. The solar panel just looks way too flat, and not bent in.

It's probably just the perspective making it appear flat. Fel didn't have kill marks on his fighter until they switched over to the TIE Interceptor and became an Elite unit. As Welfstar mentions the blood stripe wasn't on the inside of the wings only the outside.

The support strut is not there. The texture is the same as an Interceptor. The panel is way to short to be a LN. The frame has the Interceptor structure (there is a lil structure that goes 2/3rds of the way up), Soontir is standing next to it.

Most importantly it's just a bit of art, a painting. It's not a photograph. So what the artist didn't get the perspective perfect. It's still a nice painting.

Nope. The wings aren't long enough, the support struts are a squint's and Fel didn't have kill marks until he became an Elite unit and started using TIE/INs.

And funny enough, it's a Y-wing that takes him down.

To be fair, it is a Y-Wing/X-Wing combo.
