Looking for some folks that would be interested in starting a weekly/bi-weekly X-Wing game night.
More the merrier!
If your from the southern half of Vancouver Island and interested, let me know.

Not quite there yet, moving to the island from the UK in November. Cobblehill, once settled I'm happy to get some regular games in.

Cool! I lived there for a few years. Beautiful spot. Im in a little town called Crofton, just on the north side of Duncan. Only about 20 minutes away from Cobble Hill.
The southern half of the island is still a big place, but if you're anywhere near Victoria, Curious Too Games should have a regular night going. I'm from the mainland, so I'm not familiar with the community over there. If you have Facebook, join the X-Wing Western Canada group and post there. You might get a few more responses there.

Yeah I've talked to the Curious Too guys a few times. Unfortunately thats about an hours drive for me. Little to far for a regular thing for me, but im probably going to go anyway if I can't find a group more locally. Thanks for the advice though! I never use facebook, but perhaps I should start.
My wife's family is on the island, and her Parents live in Chemainus. We were just there for some of August. Anyway, next time I'm planning a trip I'll bring a squad or two and try to connect with you. Might not be for a while, but I'll keep it in mind.

Oh, and there's a Game store in Duncan. They have and sell X-wing, and paint and all that sort of stuff. I don't remember the name, but it's a decent place and they might have regular X-Wing. Duncan should be close enough.

Its called dice bag games. Its where most of my collection has come from. I haven't really had a lot of time to get to know any of them personally. Have known a few of them in passing for several years now. I'm planning on having a chat with them and see who's around that plays. I look forward to a future match with you. To bad I didn't post this 2 months ago.

Yeah, would have been no good. I had no time for it as there was a family wedding followed by me hiking the West Coast Trail followed by some camping at Cowichan lake. Also, I really only started getting into the game in July, so I wasn't even thinking about whether there would be anyone to play with on the Island.
I enjoyed living there while I did. It's a beautiful place, and Victoria is my favourite city in Canada. I've lived everywhere except for Quebec and East, and I would live back on the Island as my first choice.

I've lived in the Cowichan Valley my whole life, and did most of my growing up in Lake Cowichan, so I don't have much to compare to. But I can't image enjoying life as much as I do here. How did you like the west coast trail? Haven't done it yet. Want to though. But I've spent most of my adult life working in the woods running around remote mountain sides, so I have a hard time motivating myself to get out there during what spare time I get. Unless its to get out hunting. Always find motivation for that!
The WCT was tough, but I was there at the tail end of the driest period of the summer. Didn't have one bit of rain until my hike out day. Overall I did very well, and the whole trip was immensely enjoyable.
I hope to connect when I'm on the Island next.
